Had lunch and the menu is basic. If you ordered a filled bap it came with a Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. Why would you want those with a sandwich? I had the gammon ploughmans which was mediocre. Half a baguette, half an apple, bits of gammon that obviously came from the carvery because they were warm, a huge pile of chopped lettuce and carrot, small pot of relish. Lose the apple, less salad and more gammon is what is needed along with a full baguette nit a half. Not worth over £6. Save your money and eat in one of the many restaurants in Wanstead High Street or try the Nightingale Pub for great food

This used to be a lovely Toby Carvery. The meat portions USED to be very generous and the Chef was always friendly and helpful. We went as a family group - 7 of us - Sunday 6th April, and although restaurant full, the Chef at the carvery serving meat portions which were very sparse. You were lucky to get two slices of meat per roast, and often it was fat included. I felt the meat portions so limited, and also vegetables on carvery no parsnips, and the white cabbage didn't look appertising.
We were deep in family conversation at end of meal when waitress started clearing table, stretching over us, and making it obvious she wanted us to leave. I felt this was very rude, and you shouldn't be made to feel you had to leave restaurant. No one was waiting for our table and we felt we shouldn't be made to feel like this.
I don't think I shall be returning to this Carvery, although good offers, a carvery should be about good meat portions first of all. Also found if you have Yorkshire pudding it takes up half your plate as so big.

Standard carvery fare, roasts etc followed by cream/custard huge puddings. Food is ok, plenty of it for sure. The staff are helpful and efficient, always with a bit of chat to make their customers feel welcome. Do not go expecting haute cuisine, but if what you want is a decent meal served by friendly staff you will like it. (One gripe: they need to redecorate, the place needs it)

Do not waste your time in going. The food is atrocious and the radio adverts at present are totally misleading. I have been living close to this particular Toby for years so have given it 5 or 6 chances but every time it delivers the same, sub standard of flavourless food.

Unflavoured meats, bland over done vegetables and cold gravy. The only reason its busy is the price...!! The staff top it off, young school leavers who dont know how to pour a drink and the older ones who are so jaded by the job, they`ve stopped caring about a decade ago.

Spend more and goto a better place in the locale.
