My husband and I stayed for 3 nights for a short break. The room was very comfy; good job there was a ceilng fan as it was 34 celsius! Breakfast was croissants, yoghurt, toast, cereal, orange juice, tea or coffee. The restaurant is decorated in traditional Italian style; we had a meal in there which was really lovely, I had spaghetti alfredino and my husband had the steak. You could choose extra sides. Lorenzo and Salvatorre, the 2 brothers who run La Gaffe couldnt have been nicer; they were chatty, friendly and made us laugh! We loved La Gaffe and will definately be going back! I should also mention that La Gaffe is a 5 minute walk from Hampstead Heath if you wanted to go for a walk.

I was staying in the hotel upstairs and wanted to try the restaurant. From what I heard from a fellow hotel guest, it gets packed on Friday/ Saturday, but a Sunday night I had no trouble getting a table. I ordered a white wine, lentil soup, a pasta dish, and chocolate cake. The total came to 29.35 euro.

Service is excellent. My waiter was a young man from Italy who was very friendly and eager to help with recommendations. You can tell he takes pride in his job.

Wine is very reasonably priced (4.50 for the one I chose). The food was delicious, especially the chocolate cake!

This is a great neighborhood restaurant with great food and staff!

Thank you very much. Always happy when our room guests sample our cuisine as this all part of the La Gaffe experience. After all, we were first and foremost a restaurant :)

I recently needed to find a restaurant for us to go as a family to celebrate my wife's birthday. I found La Gaffe, and couldn't have made a better choice. We had a really lovely evening. The food was delicious - some of our group had pasta, others fish, and everything was all really tasty, and well presented. As a simple example, the potatoes that evening were dauphinoise potatoes, which looked and tasted superb! The restaurant is decorated in traditional Italian style (you can see from the photos), and service was professional and polite yet always so friendly. After our main course, the staff presented my wife with a special birthday tiramisu! La Gaffe is quite small and although it got full, it was never noisy, which is something that is important to me. Over the years I've been to Hampstead numerous times, yet somehow have never seen La Gaffe before, but I now know where to go for a quality, friendly and comfortable Italian meal in Hampstead.

We stayed here because it was the closest place to where we needed to be for a day or two - not an obvious hotel, but rooms above the restaurant. In fact, ours wasn't above - but some way up and back and beyond, but that made it quiet. Bed was comfortable and continental breakfast perfectly good. Not cheap but not bad for an expensive part of London. Didn't eat there because we were celebrating an anniversary and had a posh blow-out elsewhere.

Thank you. As you mention, we are a restaurant with rooms rather than a formal hotel. I hope next time you will have a chance to try our cuisine :)
