This flat met and exceeded our expectations! We were looking for a convenient but quiet location, safe, comfortable and clean. This place is all of that and more!
First the location is excellent, away from the tourist crush but not too far from everything you'd most like to see. It is literally just around the corner from a tube stop on the District Line, which is perfect. (If you are looking for the main tourist destinations, this is the tube line you will most likely need. We rarely had to make any transfers to other tube lines which made it super simple.) The District Line also feeds right into Victoria Station where we could connect with a train for a day trip and also the Gatwick express. (The district line also connects to Heathrow if that is the way you are arriving). So it is excellent to be so close to, and right on, the District tube line.
The neighbourhood is also a delight and had everything we needed. After a day of sightseeing, we would go for an evening walk down to the Thames or over to Ravenscourt Park. The area felt safe to explore and also is pretty and interesting as well. King Street is a very short walk away and has all sorts of restaurants and various amenities and--most important to us--a Tesco and Sainsbury express/local where we could buy some groceries and also easy pre made meals. We got in the habit of popping into these shops once off from the tube and grabbing a quick supper to carry home.
As to the flat itself, it's charming even more than the photos would suggest, and is clean and well kept. The beds are super comfortable and it felt spacious for our family of four over the ten days we stayed there. Every convenience was here: dish washer, laundry, fridge, stove etc. It's clear the owners take good care of this place and also value and appreciate the people they rent it to. Nick met us upon arrival, provided interesting tourist suggestions--such as the Thames river cruise from Kew to Westminster, which we went on and found delightful. He also provided a few handy groceries, and if I ever had an inquiry during our stay, he was prompt with a reply. We had a wonderful experience here and I highly highly recommend!
Nick was very responsive and helped me through a date issue that appeared in our booking (note to Tripadvisor- you kept adjusting the dates I booked with).
The apartment is bigger than it looked in the pictures, very comfortable and well appointed. Access to the Tube and bus were ideal. We appreciated the cleanliness and the basics in the fridge very much.
My son battled with the train noise on the first night but we had no problems after settling in.
Overall, a great place and top hosts.
The apartment smelt lovely, was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished.
There were lovely welcome touches in the fridge and the owner met us on arrival to explain everything and share knowledge of the local area.
The flat is really centrally located, near to the tube and the vibrant Chiswick High Road. We didn't want to leave.....
My husband and I stayed with our two children in this flat in February for 3 nights. The flat is located in Chiswick/Hammersmith and is easily accessed both by bus - no. 94 goes all the way in to Picadilly Circus - and the Underground, with a 2-minute walk to Stamford Brook station.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the corner and the neigbourhood is very friendly.
The flat itself is perfect for a family of 4, with a bedroom at the back with two single beds and another bedroom one the top floor. The whole flat is very modern and the kitchen is well equipped.
Nick and his wife were very helpful and gave us good tips on local attractions as well as the best way to get to and from the airport.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is coming to London - it is very nice to come back to a spacious flat after a long day sightseeing. A home away from home!
