We stayed at this home in March 2018 as a family of five over our Spring Break holiday. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice! Bev & Jeff were incredibly helpful from the time of booking all the way through our stay and went out of their way to accommodate us. The house itself is beautifully kept and with three bedrooms (one with bunk beds,) two bathrooms with a shower and/or tub, a fully stocked kitchen and a very comfortable sitting area, there was plenty of room for all of us! The location was central to town, with bus stops within a five minute walk and tube stops ten or fifteen minutes either way. The neighborhood was great, with a Sainsbury five minutes away and lots of fun little restaurants within walking distance as well. We would highly recommend this property to anyone and would definitely return in the future!
One of my grandsons was doing a semester abroad and would be celebrating his birthday in early March. We decided this would be a great reason to visit him and London as well. So his parents, myself and my youngest grandson planned this great getaway.
I knew renting more than 1 hotel room would be quite expensive so I decided to try renting an apartment or home. This was the first time I attempted this rather than stay at a hotel and wow we hit the jackpot with this one! Besides being expensive, hotels can be cold and without personality. This home was inviting and provided enough room so that the 5 of us did not trip over each other. I felt the price was more than reasonable and since we booked early Jeff agreed to monthly payments which was a great help.
The time of year was not the best because of the weather but we were cozy in this London home. Bev and Jeff could not be more cordial or helpful. At times, I felt like I was being a pest but they never made me feel that way.
It must be difficult to open your home to strangers and hope that they respect your property and hopefully we did just that. And by the time we arrived, we felt like we had known each other for a long time. Bev and Jeff were always available to answer the many questions we had long before we our trip started. Anytime I travel in a group, I will definitely look to do this type of rental and if one of those trips should include a return to London, I hope 4 Thorpatch Road with its bright red door will be available!
The location could not have been better - outside of the din of a noisey city with easy access to all the great local transportation London has to offer.
When renting or purchasing a home, they say it is all about location, location, location. Even though this rental property had a great location, it is the hospitality and helpfulness of Jeff and Bev that will bring us back.
Jeff and Bev’s house is adequately equiped with all the stuffs you need at a proper house, and the house enjoys an advantageous geographical position, enabling us to get to the must-to-go places in London conveniently. What's more, Jeff and Bev provided us with free use of oyster cards and said goodbye to us in person, making us feel like a family. We really enjoyed our stay there.
In addition to being beautiful and clean, this house has all the comforts one could wish for when on vacation. The house is tastefully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped. The beds are very comfortable. There is only positive to say.It is located in a neighborhood just a little bit away from the "fuzz and buzz" tourist. Public transit is very easy and efficient. We enjoyed having the big Sainbury's five minutes away from home. The owners are friendly, attentive and discreet. As they live right next door, they are easy to reach if needed. Would definitely return.
