“Pretty good for last minute bookings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2011

Nice atmosphere and enjoyed the activities in the bar area. Breakfast alright for the price (there were 2 spots with cereal dispensers - find the one with the "nice" cereal). The rooms varied however - some were tiny, some (relatively) spacious, and the same with showers - the 15 second showers drove me insane. The staff were nice and helpful, even printed directions to a bar for me :)

Great hostel a stones throw away from Kings Cross with cheap dorm rooms. Huge kitchen and bar downstairs with a DJ. Computer room which was, naturally, the court room and even rooms with original cell doors. This place epitomises "cool"

Although it was good for one night, and the beds were very comfortable, the rooms were quite cramped and I couldn't imagine trying to stay for any extended length of time.

Room Tip: We went for the 10 bed mixed dorm £20 pp/pn

The place is walking distance from KIngs Cross with a live 24 hour reception. I reached around 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised with a warm and efficient welcome and check-in.The hostel too was buzzing with activity. The beds are comfortable and rooms very basic. For the price, it is a good bargain. If they keep a simple map or the area upto king-cross and Russel Square, it would help for the places are quite walkable.

The rooms are very cramped and have extra luggage areas. I ended up sleeping with my bag at the tip end of my bed for ease. It has an alright location. Not really too central but is easy to get a bus to kings cross station and wall from there. All in all it was alright. I'm sure there's better, but it was pretty comfortable.

This place is very interesting as far as hostels go. Whilst I can't fault it on its service and location the rooms and bathrooms are not the most exciting things. Especially when you have four girls trying to fit in a matchbox sized room with 4 oversized suitcases! However, the breakfast is pretty good and they serve awesome cheap drinks at the bar...the berry vodka was our favourite!!! If you want some cheap food the italian restaurant just up the street towards Kings Cross station has a special for 5 pound pizzas takeaway which were delish! It's a good location close to buses and trains so if you want somewhere cheap to sleep in London and to meet fun people then Clink is for you :)

I booked a private twin room. It was a room that only fit a bunkbed and maybe between the door to the bed was enough to lay out one suitcase. There was a sink in our room as well. The shower happened to be outside our room, and there are two stalls with locks (I stayed on the second floor). They had an elevator for us to go up, we did not have to lug our suitcases up the stairs. Each floor appeared to have a theme. My floor's theme was orange.

I found the atmosphere very interesting. It was a hostel but it was somehow very efficient. If you had a private room, towels were included in the price. You have to pay for internet, and you grab a card at reception and there's a machine to deposit money into. It was about 0.50 pounds for 15 minutes. The internet cafe was a former court room. I did not use the washer. Downstairs is where breakfast was. There was a lot of sitting space and a lot of stations to toast bread.

The hostel is pretty close to King's Cross, about a 8-13 min. Next to a police station.

I like the efficiency of this hostel, there are things you have to pay but it's understandable as it would be charged in other hostels. The size of the room was a bit claustrophobic.

Had a private room in the basement (the bar was being renovated so it wasnt noisy) pretty standard room nothing much to complain about. Would definitley ask to change rooms if the bar was open as it was seriously a few metres away and would get really noisy.

Room Tip: Not in the Basement

Dear michaeldouglascasten,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

The bar is open now and newly refurbished, we do have in place more doors between the bar and the rooms to help block the noise.

We hope you enjoyed our film festival week during the refurbishment of the bar. We hope to see back again at Clink78 soon!
