“Quite Noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2012

Rooms are quite small, and .. IN the street. Quite a big street by the way, so the first ambulance will sounds like 3rd world war.

I particularly like the kitchen because we are free to cook our meal at time of the day either with oven, micro wave oven or gas. It is ver convenient. However the supply of food for breakfast should be more consistent .

We just returned from this "hotel." While we have no real complaints, we spent very little time in the room. Be aware that there are no elevators in the hotel so we had to drag our large suitcases up several flights of stairs, including a fire escape connecting the two buildings making up the hotel. The rooms and common areas were clean and appeared recently renovated. The front desk staff was friendly enough, but do not expect any type of concierge or tourist information services from the staff. We were able to store our luggage with the front desk staff during our last day in London after check out at no cost, which was very convenient. Our room was simple was simple with just a bed and nightstand but some of the other rooms that we viewed contained kitchenettes and larger common areas. Again, the room was very clean and modern and was serviced by housekeeping each day with fresh towels. We didn't take advantage of the shared kitchen since we were always on the go in the mornings. The area surrounding the hotel is slightly sketchy and doesn't offer many food options but there is a convenience store directly across the street. There are several subway stations within walking distance to the hotel (Bow Road and Mile End), but expect the commute into central London to take at least 30 minutes. Overall, the hotel satisfactorily served it's purpose for us... a place to sleep, shower, and safely store our luggage. Due to its distance from the city center, it is not ideal for those travelers who expect to go back and forth to the hotel throughout the day. Next time we visit London, we would likely opt for a more centrally located hotel, but we are generally satisfied with our stay at this hotel during our most recent visit.

Room Tip: If you expect to have larger/heavier suitcases, try to request a room on one of the lower floors in...

This is a great budget choice with good transport links to central London. I stayed here several times over a 6 week period. The rooms were very warm (when it was snowing outside). The staff are very friendly and even accepted deliveries / mail for us.

Some rooms have kitchen facilities, if not there are shared kitchen facilities where you can cook up a meal. We saved a lot of money cooking dinners. All of the rooms are very clean. The rooms on the main road are noisy, so bring earplugs. Good free WIFI coverage.

The staff are very friendly and we had some interesting converations.

This hotel is very close to the Olympic venues in Stratford.

Room Tip: If you don't sleep well with noise, ask for a room away from the road.

stayed here for one night and must say couldnt get out quick enough, didnt like it one bit, never slept a wink due to the high volume of noise from outside, didnt like the fact that we had to go up 2 lots of fire escapes to get to our room, found a better hotel next day far cheaper and in kensington

People who like to travel to London without spending a lot of money in accommodation find here a really good choice. Rooms are quite small, but very clean. So perfect for people who just go to hotels for sleeping. Staff is very kind and helpful.
We liked to walk to city from here and needed one complete hour. But if you prefer using subway, there is a station quite close.
I recommend this hotel.
