The CityStay hotel is just a short walk from Bow Rd tube, which is about half an hour from central London. A family member and I were both staying and we wanted individual rooms without paying too much so it served that purpose. The hotel will give you a front door key so you can come back when you like, though as far as I could tell there as no 24 reception. The room was quite big if you factored in the bathroom and the small dressing area with the wardrobe and there was a large cupboard. There is a small TV mounted on the wall with the Freeview channels, and an ensuite bathroom with shower. I was in a basement room and the curtains didn't adequately keep out the light from the busy road, so if you're as sensitive to lights as I am you might want to request a non-basement room. The bed was incredibly comfy.

There was a self-service breakfast room but no-one told us about this, we just heard people coming and going from it. There is a Co-Operative supermarket across the road, a pub on the same road and a small cafe which serves breakfast. Alternatively you could take the District line two stops and go to the Wetherspoons at Stepney Green.

For one night's cheap stay it was alright but it is quite far out.

Room Tip: Rooms in the basement have security lights shining through the windows all night

Don't ever stay here, it's a rip off being charged £360 for a triple room we didn't ask for, crack in the tv, tiles off the wall and the dirty shower we have to share is at the opposite of d building. Wrecked our stay and too overcharged, breakfast, what breakfast?7

The hotel is only 5 minutes away from Bow Road station. In the same street there are several supermarkets, taxi cabs agents, take-away shops and pubs.

The receptionist we met in the morning welcomed us by carrying our luggage to the room downstairs, he then explained that there is a help yourself kitchen next to our room. Kitchen is open each day till 00:00 and is very very well equipped with tea, coffee, hot choc, sugar, sweetners, oven, microwave. In the morning there is quite a selection from cereals, milk, fresh fruit, toasts, jam and lemon curd. Amazing!

The room was average, fairly clean, shower was spacious and the sheets were spotless. I would recommend this hotel for it's cheap price and good service!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 102, no noises and all the windows could be locked! :)

Staff were not very helpful, extremely rude and ignorant. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Rooms were dirty and shower was mouldy. Toilet did not flush and Spoilt my holiday. Hotel was cheap but I would rather pay extra for a better experience. Don't ever stay here!!

Business trip for 4 days. Had my budget been higher I would not have stayed in this "hotel". Rooms are small but at least the bed is comfortable and the shower does work. WiFi connection was very very poor, ended up logging into the free wifi offered by the bank next door which helped. Breakfast, well first time that I have stayed in a hotel whereby they offer you the breakfast but you have to make it yourself plus clean up afterwards all in a communal kitchen that can get busy. Transport links are good as only 20 meters from the DLR. Service level not the best either, never got a good morning or hello from the reception desk, not even a thank you for the business after checking out.

I was there for 2 nights. Everything was OK, the price, the room, etc.... it was clean and near a underground station. For this price and for London, this hotel was fine. The staff that work in the hotel could be a little bit more friendly...

It is a basic hotel, but it is very much expected given the reasonable price. Our room & bathroom were clean and nicely cleaned every single day - that's a bonus! Comfortable bed (although may be a bit small if you are of a larger complexion, but more then enough for average size couple), 24/7 hr kitchen with basics like bread, tea, coffee, bananas, cereal and milk. It doesn't "smell" old and outdated. We probably had one of the "bad" rooms - on 1st floor, right in the corner, so we were exposed to (a) big road on one side and (b) train station, on the other - yet, when we closed the windows there was no noise at all! I have sensitive sleep and was worried to be up all night, but I slept like a baby. The best part of the hotel is that it's a 3-min walk from the Underground station and there is a 24/7 food store across the street.
