“Well positioned but nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2013

Another chain restaurant that does deliver on good quality pizzas, but we ate there early evening before taking in a west end show and found it to be over-crowded and service was slow. Could be so much better.

“Why bother with a menu?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

Visited this restaurant 26/4/13 very early evening. Promising menu and seemingly reasaonable prices. The assertive waitress made recommendations we chose not to accept for our own reasons. Food (calzone and a pasta dish) was mediocre: calzone overloaded with gloopy ricotta and the pasta so thick it detracted from the dish. Wine good.
When asked how we'd enjoyed the food we replied politely "fine thanks" not being in the mood, or having the time, for a long discussion. You don't expect to be challenged with "ONLY FINE?" and then obliged to justify your indifference. The pushy waitress should have accepted it hadn't gone that well and been grateful that, for a quiet life, we had decided not to challenge the hefty 12.5% "optional" service charge. £72 was too much for two mains, an up-sold starter (we asked for bruschetta but were persuaded to have a sharing platter with a huge lump of mozzarella at an extra £6) and a £17.95 bottle of wine. Worst side salad in history, too: a small bowl of the ubiquitous, unpleasant and unimaginitive rocket with three cherry tomatoes halved and placed round the edge, then some lumps of parmesan slung at it.
What really got to us was the waitress' attitude: "You didn't choose what I recommended. Come back and choose what I recommend and you'll enjoy it". Our response: "Why have a menu if everything on it is unreliable except for your personal recommendation?"
Come back? Yeah, right...

“Solid, dependable, tasty - good Italian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2013

Went there for a swift lunch, and the restaurant did exactly what was needed for an Italian restaurant - a wide ranging menu, with all the usual suspects and plenty of choice. The fish option for the main was excellent, the pizza was of a good size.

Very tasty, well priced and excellent service (in fact the service was the stand out point). Felt very comfortable and somewhere I'd pop into again.

“Poor food, poor service, rude staff.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2013

We ate at Rossopomodoro last week, as it is perfectly positioned to have a quick early supper before heading to the Cambridge theatre. However, this was not the case. We were a party of 8, and we arrived at 6.15 (to leave by 7.30) and advised the waiting staff that we would like to eat quickly, and subsequently order immediately. One of our party ordered a pizza, whilst the rest had salad and pasta. The pizza came within 10 minutes, but we were still waiting for the rest of the food 30 minutes later. Eventually the manager came over and told us our food would arrive in 2 minutes (not giving an explanation of the delay) and when it did arrive our chicken in the salad was undercooked and we had no dressing on any of the salads - utter sham. Was very disappointed, particularly as we didn't receive an apology. Won't be returning.

“Very Reliable Pizza and Pasta Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2013

I've eaten here several times now and have had a variety of pasta dishes. Overall I would say for a quick meal in West London you cannot really go wrong here. The food is authentically italian, and while I haven't yet tried the pizza , they look fantastic. The room is a big space with an open kitchen with wood burning oven. Staff are efficient even when the place is packed. They have some decent Italian wines by the glass. I'd definitely eat here again.
