“Honest Review - Will help if you cant decide”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Well after the reviews on trip advisor I was very wary about going to Mahiki. I spoke with the reservations team only 2 days before we wanted to book a table, they were very helpful and organised everything perfectly. We had read the reviews on here about not being allowed in at the door and not having a record of your reservation. We didnt have any of that. Everything was perfect as arranged 2 days previous. The door staff were slightly rude on arrival and made us wait about 5 minutes at the door but I wouldnt say this is anything worthy of complaining about.

We were shown to our table which was upstairs in the bar at the back. Given menus and drinks/food explained to us, the service the whole night was incredible, attended to everything we needed. We are not rich and realised Mahiki was quite expensive but we decided to treat ourselves so we didnt worry too much about the cost. I would say if you are on a tight budget this is not the place for you. Individual cocktails are around £9 which is the cheapest thing on the menu. There was a group of us so we ordered bottles of Vodka, it was free flowing all night with unlimited mixers and some shared food platters. We spend £100 each and that was including a very generous service charge. So if you are willing to push the boat out a little go for it.

As for the atmosphere, it was amazing, the music was great, we danced the whole night. The bar upstairs is every bit as good as the club downstairs (its the same music played) the club is just darker and more club like. I really dont have a bad word to say about this and confused about all the reviews written that are slating it. Yes its upmarket, yes some people can be rude, yes its filled with beautiful rich guys and girls but what else do you expect from a high end bar in London....in Mayfair? If you want a brilliant night with friends and dont mind spending a bit extra, this is the place.

I would watch out what taxi they put you in when leaving the club. Our taxi tried to charge us £30 for 0.7mile journey, so just beware of that.

“Hospitality needs work!”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

Great funky place in a great location with great atmosphere & music but let down by the hospitality team. Lady on door great & friendly as we're the bar men but the team the work the tables totally changed their attitude when we were served really salty drinks they became snotty & rude- booing us, asking for a tip, telling you you wouldn't know a real
Cosmopolitan and handing out their business card every time you spent over £500 a round is just not what you expect for the price list!

“Lame and extortionate. Avoid! Avoid!”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

We visited this place because we were too late to get into nearby Novikov - I bet that is the source of much of its trade - and to say that we were disappointed is the understatement of the year. We paid £120 (plus an extortionate £18 for service that was added by default) for a 'sharer' bowl of a revolting cocktail that tasted like Bacardi & Coke; mixed with Malibu & Coke; mixed with Coke. Yeuch! Combine the horrible drink (which we couldn't finish), cheesy decor, 1980s music and bar staff dressed like pirates, and you'll understand why we left after about 15 minutes.

“Guest list and bouncers and promoters”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

My daughter travelled from Chipstead Surrey with her friends to mahiki for her 18th birthday she was supposed to be on the guest list which she double checked with the promoter in the afternoon prior to going they arrived at 10.40 and the bouncers refused entry as their names were not on the list they phoned and txt the promoter who did not answer they even said could they pay to come in but they said they were full. they ended up getting the train back home with my Daughtet sobbing and heart broken . The doormen at the club and the promoters and hosts were totally unsympathetic and just stood there staring and smirking . I would never recommend this club gust list or not my Daughter feels humiliated as she had to face all her college friends not exactly the way to remember your 18 th and first legal night out with drinks I phoned the promoter the next day and he answered and he said although on a guest list it still dose not confirm entry even though my Daughter and friends had not been put on the list by promoter when they should of been

“always crowding”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Have been there. Not once.

Always the same story:
1. a long queue to the bar if you are without a reservation (take your card details in case of cancellation etc).
2. have to pay for the entrance £20/person if you are going to come after 10pm.
3. always crowding - no space to dance & sometimes difficult to breath :)
4. great presentation of cocktails (nice but costly)
5. majority of people are completely wasted
6. lots of expats
7. many pretty girls (but it is doubtfully due to of no light and alcohol cocktails)
8. very long queue to the sort of 'clock room'.

But if you are there because of your friends who don't care about mentioned above and you share their lifestyle etc, then you are very welcome!
