We both stayed here while doing the London Marathon, owner was very friendly and greeted us when we arrived. He took our luggage and carried it to our room. We had a twin room which was very clean, beds lovely with clean linen . There was a Tv in the room and tea making facilities and a small sink.

We stayed from friday till the Monday and had no complaints, there was no noise, lovely comfy beds and the room was cleaned daily. There was a communal kitchen, with everything you could need also with a computer which was free to use.

Only downside was the showers, these on both floors did not even get warm. We did tell the manager whom took us to the second floor showers but where barely warm after he fiddled with it- this no good when you have just ran 26 miles and they wasnt the cleanest neither. This let it down as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the manager and staff very helpful indeed.

Would I go back ? Yes well worth the money , but they do need to fix the showers.

I booked this hotel last minute as everything near the Excel was fully booked. It was very good value for money and the room was spotless, warm and had a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a basin. The bathroom was down the hall. As a woman on my own I was a bit wary of the location and sharing a bathroom but the staff were charming and there was no noise from other guests. I spent a comfortable night.

i stayed there for some days, in the dorm-beds..and the bed was so comfortable. I could use the facilities in the kitchen room, prepare coffee or tea anytime, watch tv and have free internet connection (asking the code at the reception). breakfast is cheap and tasteful. I liked the palce and it was well connected with transport.the staff is very helpful and nice.compared to other dormitory/hostels the dorms here are very clean.

after reading lots of negatives for this hotel/pub i thought i would share
it might not be the ritz but its a down to earth pub and great location
i stayed saturday 26th januadry for an away match to watch charlton v sheffield wednesday
i stayed in room 20 which was a double room with shower and bathroom the room was lovely and warm
the pub atmosphere is fantastic and all my teams supporters were in this pub the bar staff were great even singing along to our songs
to top of the night we won which made my stay even better my only gripe was the parking which is a mile away but free
but if we ever play charlton again i would definately stay here

Room Tip: room 20 is a lovely room a double and ensuite and away from the pub in an add on to the pub

I stayed in the 8 bed dorm over the weekend. The bunk beds are fine, wifi is great, sheets clean, kitchen clean, bathrooms clean. The girls bathroom had two showers but were too small so i used the main bath downstairs which had a shower and a full tub. The water pressure was great one day and bad the next-i think you just need to get in before others sometimes. On friday night the pub downstairs was pretty loud-but it does close at 12 so not so bad. What i loved was the location-you can see the hotel from the train station, and Asda and a shopping center is a five minute walk away. i plan to stay here again.
