“Cheap comfortable hotel”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

We stayed in Peckham Lodge as we were going to Brixton Academy, although it wasn't as close as we would have liked, it was £15 in a taxi which for London I thought was quite reasonable. The receptionists were really lovely, friendly and very helpful. Our room was really clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also very nice and clean. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment, but this didn't affect our stay at all.

The only criticism I would have is that although there was a mirror in the bathroom, there was no mirror in the actual bedroom. I have stayed in much much worse hotels that were far more expensive, for a hotel in London, the price is amazing and if I had gone there and not known the price, I would have set it at a lot higher than we paid.We had a really nice stay and I would definitely return!!

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of July with my Boyfriend.. At first it took us forever to get there as it is quite far out of the centre. Once we did get there it was about 10 minutes before anyone on reception noticed us and gave us our room key. We had been put in a room in the back building in the basement area which to be honest doesnt look like much when you see it from the outside and the hallway, but the room itself was clean so we didn't mind too much.
What we didn't like however was the 6.30am wake up by the Night Porter opening the roller shutter door, that was directly outside our window, everyday. Windows didn't open, neither did the curtains, but at least they had air conditioning in the room.
Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on the food.
For £46 a night I wasn't expecting anything great but this was even worse than what I could have imagined... I wouldn't stay here again.

Okay for a one night stay, but is a 10GBP ride to either Elephant Castle or Oval tube stations, or ~35GBP taxi from Soho. We were told on several occasions that walking around in the area was not advised with a recent trend of muggings and robberies, but we didn't see anything too concerning. Room was small, but clean. Shower would not adjust from extremely hot. Booked a double twin room and ended up in a triple room, I don't know how they fit the bunk bed and the full-sized in the room. Staff was very polite and helpful. My advice if you plan on being downtown is to spend a bit more and find something closer (and a bit more comfortable).

Room Tip: Call to confirm your actual room type.

The guy in reception was in a bad mood and did not want to be there. There were hairs on the bed. The room was like a dungeon, in a basement with no windows.

The shower was very good though to be fair and the room was really cheap (£50 per night) so you get what you pay for, and the bus went from right outside the 'hotel' or whatever it is supposed to be.

It is really a hostel with private rooms though.

It was grand for what we paid. we only wanted somewhere to put our stuff safely and somewhere to sleep anyway.

i visited this place during the olympics of 2012. Firstly, I would say that the pictures can be really deceptive and don't believe in what you see.The rooms are not big and neither is the bathroom but after a few minutes of absorbing the shock, the room can actually grow on you The hotel is in South of london, which is considered the shady area but i found it to be extremely pleasant. The transportation is really good for there is a bus stop just 15 steps away from the hotel, from where you can easily get to central london or stations like Euston. And there is an overground station situated a km or 2 km away from the hotel and a train after every hour leaves for this station from victoria station. You can catch a bus outside from the Peckham rye station that drops you in front of the hotel. so, the transport is really easy and the staff is friendly too. You just have to voice your complaints in order for them to pay some heed. If you are not in search for some luxurious hotels with lots of facilities in this amount then this is a very nice place to stay. Just do a lot of sight seeing and then use this place to rest your aching feet, you would actually find it highly comforting and worthy. And a final advice to the tourist is to stay alert and be sure to be back in hotel by 11 pm. So, be early risers and enjoy the magic of the city.

Room Tip: rooms on the first floor in the back building are the best.
