Description: In the heart of the West End, Charlotte Street is home to some of London's most popular eateries and Tsunami is one of the best. This modern Japanese restaurant is a tranquil haven just moments from bustling Soho, so it's an ideal setting for laid-back lunches and intimate pre-theatre dinners. The interior is cool and contemporary, complete with sleek banquette seating and delicate floral motifs on the walls. The expertly prepared sushi and sashimi will satisfy even the fussiest Japanese food fan and the menu also offers delicious hot dishes. For a light and elegant meal in W1, Tsunami is a top choice.

“Cosy restaurant serving nice food”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Nice selection of drinks and food. I ordered a selection of three starters: snow crab shumai, baby cuttle fish and grilled scallops. The baby cuttle fish were quite crispy but not so much taste and served with a lime sauce that did not match or enhanced the flavour at all. The scallops were delicious but no one told me that, the seemingly white puree was not eadible.... it was pure salt and it took a fair few glasses of water to get rid of the salt. Service was good and the food was served within a good timeframe after placing the order. Would dine here again but not choose to eat the cuttle fish again.

“Another taste of Japan”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

And not the same as usual. Various dishes, presented in a special way
An experience on its own. Many different tastes.
Well assorted wine selection.
Atmosphere quite minimalistic

“Great Japanese food, highly recommended.”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

Really enojyed the whole experience, I have nothing bad to say about the place.
The scallop starter dish is probably one of the best starters I have ever had in terms of taste and presentation. The Black Cod is also top class.

“Average but would give another chance”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

We booked one of the Top Table offers having a 20% discount on food. At arrivals we were immetiately warned that table was needed within 1 half hour for the next booking, not something you expect as welcome on a saturday evening. Anyway service was nice and quick, ambiance relaxing. Unfortunately I think sushi was just average as we found the Nori to be quite hard and rice bit chewy. Tempura was excellent !! Seating is quite tight, not much privacy. I would give this place another chance trying other special dishes rather than just sushi.
