Description: In the heart of the West End, Charlotte Street is home to some of London's most popular eateries and Tsunami is one of the best. This modern Japanese restaurant is a tranquil haven just moments from bustling Soho, so it's an ideal setting for laid-back lunches and intimate pre-theatre dinners. The interior is cool and contemporary, complete with sleek banquette seating and delicate floral motifs on the walls. The expertly prepared sushi and sashimi will satisfy even the fussiest Japanese food fan and the menu also offers delicious hot dishes. For a light and elegant meal in W1, Tsunami is a top choice.

Within the food mile on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, this small and stylish Japanese restaurant is almost off the beaten track, i.e it is on the north side outside the epicentre of restaurants in the area. It offers a friendly, stylish, perhaps a tad too cool atmosphere. Wine is offered at very reasonable prices, categorised by taste and bouquet. The strength of course is the sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. All the portions come at £3-6 each, and our selection consisted of several nigiris, tuna temaki, Sashimi platter, and a Lobster maki. The quality and the presentation of all our fish was excellent. The service was friendly although we had a waitress who literally must have started earlier that day, but she accomplish here tasks reasonably well if perhaps a bit clumsy but no reason for complaints. Budget £100 for a typical meal for two.

I went here this evening for the first time and I have to say I really enjoyed it. We had sushi, prawn tempura, lamb cutlets and teriyaki chicken and it was all superb. I am a big fan of Roka and there wasn't a massive difference in quality of my view - the presentation wasn't first class but the flavour was very good. Particularly enjoyed the lamb cutlets. My boyfriend wasn't that impressed with the chicken but I thought it was all very nice. Definitely coming again.

I visited here about 2 years ago and the food was great. Again i was not disappointed with the food but the general restaurant looked a little unloved and in need of of some TLC. If you make a visit the evening may be better and the food is a good variety of Japenese and Asian food. Try the lamp chops and the fried prawns with the salad cream dip - lovely. We also had the crab mountain which wasnt really my thing but my guest loved it. All in all worth a visit but there are better more atmospheric resturants who serve similar food and you could argue are better value for money.

Very disappointing experience. Our starters were flavorless: mixed tempura which was all soggy and served with sauces with no flavor. The two Main dishes were both watered out, so the teriyaki didn't stick to the meat, and more acted like a soop. Same thing for my seafood dish which on top of everything was overdone: salmon, veggies and prawns over-overdone. The waiters were none-attending and busy with other stuff. In all - go somewhere else.
