I stay in Travelodge hotels fairly regularly and they are consistent. You know you are not going to get any frills but you get a good bed, hot shower and enough room at a fair price. They are always clean and well presented but their locations can mean that you get road noise or trains past your window. Sometimes you get lucky (as I did recently) and find youa re in a room which looks over peace and quiet

We stayed for one night, while finding the hotel impersonal (we didn't speak to a member of staff) it served its purpose for us. The location was excellent and the room was clean and comfy - we were happy with that

This is the second time we have stopped here and yet again the hotel proved to be excellent value. Travelodge is no frills but the bed was very comfy and the bathroom did what it needed to do. We paid for an early check in and the room was ready at12 - the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 nights and I was delighted that the room was cleaned and fresh towels were provided for the 2nd night. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from Tower Hill tube and the Tower of London and a short stroll from Tower Bridge and St Katherines Docks - great for bars and restaurants. One point to note is that the hotel is next to the DLR so there are trains running right past the window - this is not a huge problem as the window has secondary glazing to block out the noise.A perfect hotel for a visit to London.

My daughter and I spent Saturday night here after a day sailing on the PS Waverley. I chose this because it is really close to Millennium Tower Pier and the ship was returning late. We didn't check in until just after 11pm and check in took a while seemed to be having difficulty finding a room for us. We were eventually given room 005, a twin disabled room. It was enormous with a wet room. Beds were very comfortable, but the curtains were on a rod and didn't black out the room very well. Despite being on the road side the traffic noise was not too bad. Showering in the morning the water took a while to drain away, but eventually cleared from the bathroom. I paid for breakfast the following morning which was lovely and plentiful. Paid £80 for the room (not including breakfast) which is more than I would have liked, but booked late! All in all quite a good standard of Travelodge.

I would seriously reccomend avoiding this place. The rooms are very basic and really hot and stuffy. No air con in the rooms. Felt like you was abroad. My wife had her iPod nano go "missing" from her handbag, which was left in our room. It was 100% in my wifes handbag before we went out for the day on Saturday 28/09/13. We had no need to take it out as we were spending the day sightseeing. There was no remorse or sympathy from the staff when this was reported later that evening when we returned to our room where my wife noticed her bag was half open. The male member of staff almost tried to call her bluff by handing her the phone with a smile on his face telling her to ring the police......which she did. Apparently the hotel policy for this was to ring 999 which was a bit drastic considering. However, she followed their procedure and the police turned up quite quickly and took our statement in our room. We were told by the member of staff on reception that this situation had never happened before. We were planning to go out that evening, and although we still did, it made our evening a bit uncomfortable as we felt as though we couldnt leave the room. On sunday morning after breakfast we asked a member of staff on reception if the manager would be in to discuss the matter and the guy said he would be in later. When we came to check out we asked to speak to the manager and lo and behold it was the same man we approached that morning although he was only the assistant manager!!! There was no sense of appology yet again and no sense of responsibility from the hotel at all. Absolutely dreadfull customer service. I had originally been looking at prices for proper hotels but decided to book here instead so we could spend more on other things. 2 nights here were about the same price for one night in a relatively decent hotel and from what you get at this travelodge i would say it is very overpriced.
Avoid paying out for the breakfast.....there was no flavour to any of it and was very bland and boring. I had already paid for breakfast for both mornings online so felt obliged to eat it. I would seriously recommend eating else where.
This was supposed to be a nice weekend away for our 1st anniversary but this hotel seriously put a downer on the trip.
I have also had to remove and edit my original review as Travelodge complained to the police about the wording of my review. They were quick to ring and complain about that but we are still waiting for a phonecall from the main manager as we were promised when we left. There should be an option to leave no rating on this site as giving them a 1 still feels too much.

Just stayed at Travelodge Tower Bridge. Good room and clean, good value for money. You have to pay for early check in between 12-1400 hrs. that is £10 extra. Friendly staff. Breakfast finishes at 10AM.
