“Perfect location”
Reviewed 18 January 2014

Stayed 4 nights at the end of October 2013. I had contacted the staff with a few requests before arrival eg. so our family group could be in rooms next to each other. The staff were brilliant and fulfilled the requests. Much appreciated and I thank them very much for that.
The rooms have all you need for a short break, they are bright, clean and comfortable.
The location is the best we have experienced in London, just around the corner from Tower Bridge.
We shall stay there again and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The road side rooms are the quietest but only with closed windows...then its a bit warm.

We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend for a theatre break.
We know that Travelodge rooms are basic but we only want to sleep and shower in the room.
The rooms have had a makeover, although the shower was quite mildew covered and there was a leaf on the bathroom floor when we arrived on Friday & it was still there when we left on Sunday, apart from that everything else was ok.
Excellent location 5 minute walk from the tube station.
Room was very quiet with the window shut.
Heater on the wall was very good.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, a bit short staffed in the breakfast room, had to ask for cups on both mornings and clear ourselves a table. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet and you can have as much as you like, cereals, toast, yogurts, muffins, fruit and a cooked breakfast.

Great location and value for money for a London base. Rooms good again for London sightseeing where you only require sleep, shower, breakfast and out to see the sights. Staff are friendly, rooms clean. Some noise from London traffic and railway if windows left open but no outside noise when shut.

Arrived Friday at 4pm, receptionist was very warm and welcoming and was a great way to start the trip. Offered us a choice of floors and if we wanted to be in a room by the road or train line. Also offered us two key card in case someone needed to pop back. It was all these little things that really made us feel welcomed.

The room was the newly refurbished style of travel lodge offerings. So basically the same no matter which hotel you are staying in. Clean sheets, towels and all very nice and tidy. The bed was also excellent and nice and roomy.

Also worth mentioning that the windows also had an extra sliding window in front of them for noise reduction, although no trains could really be heard with it open, once shut you really couldn't hear a thing!

Didn't sample the bar or food facilities, but as tower hill tube station is a 1 minute walk away, all of London's catering facilities are at your disposal! Also a handy little corner shop just 30 seconds walk away, with cheap drinks and snacks if you wanted them.

A perfectly situated hotel for a trip to London!

Room Tip: Track-side rooms had an extra sound reducing window. Room 103 did on the first floor

Arrived Friday 10th Jan, stayed for 3 nights, checked in at reception, we asked for a room on the road side,5th floor, got room 533, just perfect, the receptionist was very polite, as all the staff were, the room was very clean, basic, but you only get what you pay for, towels were changed everyday day, the room was cleaned each day, and the bed was made up, so very happy with the service, we didn't eat in the hotel, as there is a weather spoons over the road, the other pub we visited, was the minories
,this was far better than weather spoons, sky tv, live football, and the food was so good, with a big menu, we were in a party of 12 people, and everyone enjoyed, there stay at the travel lodge, we would use this hotel again,

Room Tip: High room road side, it a bit quieter than the other side

The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. The dinner was lovely and the breakfast was great with lots of variety. The beds are sooo comfortable, we barely heard any noise and its very central and about a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station. Considering the location as well, the cost was brilliant.
