“Excellent sightseeing break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

Very good hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location, 5 minutes walk to the Tower of London, 3 minutes walk from tube station, 1 minute to a very good pub for huge breakfast and 2 minute walk to a lovely Wetherspoons for great value food and drink!

When you stay somewhere like the travelodge you know what you're going to be getting. Comfy room, clean, spacious (for central London) and cheap. Hotel staff were really pleasant and the bar was great (Central London and £12 for a bottle of Merlot, can't fault it).

The only complaint was the shower needed a bit of maintenance, not the end of the world as it worked fine.

Also the car park next door is just £2 per day on a Sunday - bargain.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 112, it was facing the wall (and text to a tube) but was barely any noise. I would...

It's a travelodge.. You get a basic room with basic facilities in an easily accessible location.. Perfect for sleeping and showering in. We paid £60 a night and had a comfortable nights sleep in clean linen and a great shower in the mornings.. Value for money can't get much better..
It's only the second time we have stayed in a travelodge, and I will say we would only stay in a travelodge if we were only looking for a base.
People that complain about a travelodge need a wake up call. You get what you pay for and for sure they should never be compared to a premier inn.. They are a budget accommodation chain.

This is an excellent location, around the corner from 2 London transport stations, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. This is not a luxury hotel but if you want somewhere to sleep and keep your luggage safely then this is for you. The rooms are small but clean, security is good. Staff are excellent. Recommended.

Stayed for 3 nights for a weekend break. Found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. Our room was on the roadside of the hotel but traffic noise was never an issue. Both the room and the hotel in general were clean and tidy, we didn't eat or drink here as there is a good variety of pubs and eateries within walking distance along with bus stops almost on the doorstep and 3 tube stations within 5 minutes walk so travelling further afield is no problem.
All in all well impressed both with the hotel and its location. If the price is competitive as it was this time wouldn't hesitate to return.

We booked for a 3 night stay but were forced to make 3 individual nights bookings to get the best price. This we discovered meant we had to reactivate our keycard each morning to avoid changing rooms! This has never happened at Premier Inn!

The standard was clean and good but everything seemed downsized compared to other Travelodges we have stayed in. The room was smaller, only one chair and no drawers or cupboard space, a small flat screen TV and a shower only (no bath). Lighting over the bed was poor with a snake light which would not stay in position.

Location was good geographically but we overlooked railway arches and to open the window for air meant much noise. The café was soulless so we did not eat there but we were very close to 2 Wetherspoons (one diagonally opposite) where we got a better and cheaper breakfast.

We did not have our room made up on day 3 so we had to move to a new room in the evening on our return. The staff were helpful and apologetic but said it was due to a computer failure that day. Location close to bus routes and Tower Hill underground is a plus point which made it reasonable value for money. We arrived at 12.30 but you cannot check in until 2.30 even if the room is ready without paying an extra £10. This is a bit mean. We could leave our luggage however behind reception for a £2 charitable donation.

Good clean rooms with very easy to control showers, very comfortable beds, excellent caring staff. At breakfast, tables were being cleaned and cleared with thought for diners, what more would one want?
