My husband, who isn't a member here, booked this property for 6 nights starting 18th July around two months before we were scheduled to travel. The full payment was made by 23rd June, we corresponded with the owner/agent re arrival times etc and finalised everything. We travelled as scheduled on the 18th in the early hours, till we boarded there was no further communication from their side.
On arrival at Heathrow my husband got a message saying that our booking has been cancelled by the owner/agent due to 'previous occupants extending their stay.' We were in complete shock. In 40+ years of travelling this has never before happened to either of us. Absolutely unprofessional.
Fortunately the tourist info office at Heathrow was very helpful and organised a room for us. London is a busy city especially in July, there weren't many options available. It turned out for the best, having read the review above, but we had an awful hour or two of complete panic. The only good thing was that a TripAdvisor rep called us and reassured us about the refund, which was made within 3 business days as promised.
If you are considering this property, please don't!!! Not worth the trouble. There are many other lovely places to stay in London.
The advertised amenities and so called personal availability of the agent/management was grossly misrepresented.
The ventilation system in the bathroom was broken.
There was no dryer as advertised.
The giant TV screen advertised on ‘Trip Advisor” was useless and had no function. One can still see said TV in the present add.
The old towels provided had a bad/strange odour.
There was only 1 chair/stool and at least one of us was obliged to eat in a standing position during our meals. We didn't get replacement chairs until the 2 week of the one month lease. This is after the agent missed approximately 3 to 4 appointments to meet me and deliver the replacement chairs--said missed appointments wasted a lot of my time as I had to be at the property to receive the chairs.
There was no DVD machine as advertised.
The bed was a problem. (as in the mattress being too old and worn out--the springs dug in one's body).
We were obliged to continuously clean the Property for the first 4 days due to the sustained build up of filth in the Property.
The so-called views are non-existent. A large street lamp shines directly into the sleeping quarter so if you can sleep with the light on this shouldn't be a problem.
There is no gym as advertised. One is obliged to buy a membership in the Chelsea Sport Centre that is 2 blocks down the road.
I had to personally pay for the cable to be installed after the agent insisted he saw the TV/Cable working!! The repairman confirmed there was a damage to the external antenna.
There was no Dishwasher as advertised.
There was no Highchair as advertised.
There was no Hot Tub as advertised.
The Kettle is rusted and we had to buy our own kettle.
It is not 'Suitable For Children Under 5". The metal slips in the kitchen had come off 2 counters, My brand new wind-breaker got caught on one and it ripped. The 2nd metal counter clip cause a cut on the back of my partner--it is without any doubt--a place that children under 5 (or any age for the matter) should NOT stay!
The toaster was so dirty that a peanut came out when one turn it over. The bottom lid had to be unscrewed in order to clean it.
There is no Waterfront. It is a good walk away.
The only Water Views was the toilet bowl.
The Wi-Fi was slow at times and could be a problem during lunch time.
Upon leaving, the agent did not show up (cancelled at the last hour) and we had to leave the key on the kitchen table. The agent then alleged we had caused damaged to the 'strips' on 2 of the windows (which was old and heavily used) and has claimed/implied the repairs will come out the deposit.
