“A real gem..”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

I cant believe the two negative reviews-this is a small cafe serving authentic thai food at very reasonable prices-friendly staff and a great place for a fast non fussy meal

“Great authentic thai food”
Reviewed 14 June 2013 via mobile

My family of 4 went for dinner last week. It was great food at very reasonable prices. Much better than the competition in the vicinity. We went back again tonight. Trust me. I know thai food.

“Used to be a gem, now it's shocking.”
Reviewed 11 June 2013

This place used to be so good. A hidden gem with cheap and good food. I went tonight for the first time in ages and it was appalling. The prices have gone up and the food is abysmal. A disgrace to Thailand! Avoid, save your money.

“amazing place,and great value”
Reviewed 28 March 2013

From the outside it looks very dodgy, but inside the welcome could not have been more welcoming.
We got the last table in a tiny but packed back room. About 30 seats total. it looks cramped and very 70's. but the waiter was so nice and funny. the food was inexpensive, arrived at amazing speed, and was delicious. Very tasty authentic thai food.
Four of us had a belly full for 35 quid. Amazing.
I am sure the takeaway is great too.
Highly recommended.

“Great Value Thai Food”
Reviewed 19 March 2013

Having read a few reviews of Paolina, with a couple of hours before our train we gave it a go. Previous comments were accurate in that from the outside - well we might not have given it serious consideration - but decided to try it anyway. Choose from a simple wall-mounted poster menu just beside a tiny kitchen and servery - then down a short flight of steps to a small simple dining area capable of seating around 25 - 30 people, no frills but warm and adequate. The food arrived quickly and was simply delicious, with a soft drink we chose upon placing our order (I do not think they serve alcohol.) While I appreciate different people have a different experience I cannot agree with recent negative review questioning the quality of the food/service/staff. We have eaten Thai food in many restaurants worldwide, been to Thai cookery courses in Thailand and both found the food in Paolina's to be excellent. The waitress was friendly and another Thai lady was extremely welcoming, chatting to us while we were there. If you are looking for a glamorous restaurant - this is not for you - but if you appreciate good quality Thai food at an extremely good-value price in simple surroundings give it a go. We will definitely be back.
