“Nice interior courtyard garden, but skip the food. NOT a gastropub. Typical Chiswick crowd.”

The garden is lovely. There are covered tables in the corner in case it is drizzly.

I would not recommend eating here as it is overpriced AND underwhelming. I was even starving, which would normally make the food seem more satisfying.

Seabass filet over broccoli and weirdly coloured green beans - 17
Side of uninspiring broccoli - 4
Tiny amount of chewy calamari with bottled "thai" sauce - 6.5

i've seen much nicer side offerings for less in higher-end establishments in Central London.

You can also get better food at the Cote Brasserie chain for much less. (And I don't even like chains!!) I literally had a seabass filet there this week as part of their 12.95 2-course lunch special and it was much better.

No, I don't have any affiliation with Cote. I am generally suspicious of chains, but I am simply comparing sea bass filet to sea bass filet.

Hi - I'm so sorry to hear that your food wasn't as it should have been, really not good, and most unlike the team at The Roebuck. Our sincere apologies.

TgevRoebuck does not disappoint. Solid food and drink offerings and a gorgeous outdoor patio. A very safe choice for a group get together. We celebrated our daughter’s 30th birthday with family and friends and had a lovely evening.

I would come to this pub again but unfortunately there nothing by way of vegan food on the menu, which is unusual for pubs these days. It seemed that it was a steak or nothing. Even just a basic chickpea burger would go along way and attract more custom

Try the tasty square root soda rhubarb/ginger beer (homemade in Hackney). The pub also has an open kitchen and offers international dishes including a wide range of wines. This place is right at the end of Chiswick High street. You can people watch from one of their tables under the awning at the front or take a seat in their pretty beer garden around the back.

Bar staff are friendly and adopt a 'customer is always right' attitude to their clientèle.

After a foot wrecking walk around the city sites this pub was like a little oasis.
Very freindly staff, they know their stuff and they know who is next at the bar. We only had drinks relaxed in a big soft comfy chesterfield couch. The garden out back is a good size and the open kitchen was very busy.
The food looked very tasty and a couple of people we talked to said it's really good.
We were in beer mode but will be back.
Well worth a visit any time.

Thank John N
