We sat in the outside cafe at the entrance to the Museum. Disappointed that the coffee was served in the paper cups and price tag for it was £2.90.For that money they could provide proper cups. I had their lovely looking apricot tart. Pastry was soggy and not fresh. And again it costs waping £4 a piece. And it is self service!

It goes without saying that a visit to the V & A is something to look forward to then take away lots of memories. But even the historians, geologists, artists and authors among us need sustenance. I can thoroughly recommend the Museum Cafe, for a snack, drink & slice of scrumptious cake or a full meal. The soft drinks are thoughtfully thought out, much appreciated by one who doesn't tolerate too much sugar. There's plenty of seating though obviously some times are busier than others. Enjoy!

Ate here recently whilst visiting the museum. Food was good but I felt a little overpriced for where it sat. They do have a rather captive market though!

My wife and I had not eaten at the V&A cafe, and were attracted by the venue, which consists of three historic rooms (we had lunch in the Poynter room, and came back later for coffee in the Morris room). We were surprised to find such a variety of choices. Our meals were not inexpensive, but the cost wasn't unusual for museum cafes of this sort, the quality of food was very good, and the quantities substantial. We could have wished for better direction, or signage, to help us sort out the multiple counters for different kinds of food, after which one has to find the cashier, and this was made more difficult by also having to navigate lunchtime crowds; but we puzzled it out in the end.

A nice variety at the cafe. We got some cold sandwiches which were very good but they also had some sweets, warm entres & salads.
