The room was really nice but small. Its location is okay, nice part of london but a bit of a walk from the nearest tube stations. The staff were okay. Never got to try the power shower unfortunately. I think for the price you pay to stay here you could find somewhere a little better.

You’d think that in the major metropolis that is London there would be at least a dozen rooftop spa pools wouldn’t you? Well I can only find the one – in the hotel’s Lucy Suite. And it’s downright decadent and blissful.

Very friendly lady on reception – this is my favourite check-in she said when she realised I’d booked the Lucy Suite. The room itself is a very nice size, comfortable sitting area, super bed, good-sized bathroom with a huge thunderstorm shower & White Company toiletries.

The outdoor area has a table for two, great views over London and the amazing hot tub. So of course plenty of time was sat in the tub. A bottle of champagne was ordered from room service and came very speedily. It all felt wonderfully hedonistic.

Dinner in Gregg’s downstairs was great – super friendly service and nice food. The smoked bacon croquettes were very moreish. And then an evening under the stars immersed in bubbling waters. I’d recommend anybody doing this at least once in their life. I, however, enjoyed it so much that I’ll be doing it again.

Room Tip: Try Lucy - it's an amazing treat!

Dear firstclasslad
Please don't go suggesting to other hotels that they too should get a hot tub, we love being the one in London to have a private one on the roof. delighted you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed for just one night and had a great stay. We were on the 4th floor - after requesting a room with a good view - and had a fabulous view of the shard. The bed was really comfortable and the shower divine. We had no problems with the t.v as others had mentioned, after re-booting it (as it says in the info in the room.) Reception was very helpful and perfect in their greeting and friendliness. Would I book again? In a heart beat! Thank you for a fabulous stay.

You are very welcome. I think we enjoy a better view of the Shard and the City of London than they do looking towards us and Crystal Palace. I'd rather be on our side.

I wanted to really like this hotel.

Bermondsey is a great neighborhood, lots of great London vibe without the throngs of tourists. Great restaurants and bars throughout the neighborhood which seemed to primarily attract locals folks.

The hotel itself is an interesting design with many nice features-roomy bathrooms with nice showers. There are some problems, however. #1--windows (at least in standard rooms) don't open--normally a deal breaker for us; while we were there the temps were very mild and it was a source of frustration that we were trapped behind glass. #2-Apple TV in the rooms--nice touch, if they worked. Not ready for prime time and ours had to be manually reset by the staff on several occasions.

Staff at the front desk could have been more helpful. The hotel is located between 2 tube stations a fair distance and the staff didn't tell us about excellent bus service on 2 lines very close to the hotel. Overall, however, the staff was very helpful and extremely nice. Breakfast that was an add-on with our room was very good. There is much going for this hotel, and I would recommend it.

Had a 3 night break at the B2 and using Secret Escapes made it reasonably priced. Situated on the square which has a couple of restaurants and bars and chairs in the middle. This gave it a village type atmosphere. Bermondsey rd is just off the square with great cocktail bars and restaurants. It's about 10 minutes walk to Borough Market and all the surrounding area. So quite a good position. The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms were comfortable but nothing special, small fridge was a bonus and the a/c worked fine. Good shower but no bath if that worries you. Had breakfast one morning at Greggs bar and grill in the hotel, very nice and reasonably priced for London. Had a pleasant stay and would recommend it at the price we paid which was just about right for this very popular part of London.

We only stayed for one night as it was an online deal. The room was nice with a lovely shower. We checked in late so went straight out for dinner not at GBG.
When we got back the room was very warm and after having the air con on all night it didn't cool down and you could not get any fresh air from opening the windows either.
The bed was ok but a bit on the soft side.
We decided to have breakfast there and opted for cereal and toast. As it was hot cereal we had to wait of course but we waited and waited and when we did get it, the porridge was very thick and lumpy and the bread was only toasted on one side?
I don't know if there was a problem with the air con as we were in too much of a rush the next day to ask about it.
The square which we had a view of was nice though.

Dear cnafthemont
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you liked your room and sorry that your only experience of our restaurant was lumpy porridge. I hope that the next time you are able to come and stay, you have the opportunity to join us for dinner and taste some of Chef Jordi's delicious food.

We had Lucy for two nights. The previous day we were in an executive room in the same hotel.
The executive room failed to impress, very small with terrible iMAC entertainment system.
Lucy is smaller than you'd expect a suite to be but very nicely layout and dressed.
The hot tub is great, on a small terrace (no hammock) with a table and two metal chairs.
The staff are great and very helpful.
The restuarant food was very good, which was a major surprise as it looks like a bus cafe.
The local restuarants are full, while the hotel restuarant remains a ghost town...shame.
Lucy also suffers from the iMAC system but has a nice Samsung screen ... if they removed the iMAC, the Samung smart tv would have worked great...as it was the iMAC left us with limited channels and sound from a built in speaker only.
The lack of a local car park is strange for a new hotel...the directions given by the hotel to find a car park were ...ineffective and the supplied map lacked any detail (only major streets were even named).
The hotel has no real facilities, a small (poorly stocked) bar, a restuarant and that's it. They don't have the facilities you'd expect from a 4 star hotel, but these facilties can be found locally.

Room Tip: Floor 5/6 are the executive rooms but only level 6 has a view. Floor 7 is the suites (our floor 6 r...

Dear TonyLyons
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our Loft Suite Lucy. The iMacs have recieved mixed reviews, some guests thinking that they are great and others finding them overly complicated. They do allow guests to watch DVD's, listen to music & read emails, but then so does an iPad nowadays. Jury's still out. In regards to car parking, as a sustainable development we chose not to add a car park and instead encourage guests to come by public transport. There are also Boris bikes directly behind the hotel to help guests get around when they're here. Hope to see you again soon
