“Adequate, but would not go back”

The only positive things I can say is that it was clean, I slept, and the front desk person was very nice. If you need a place to stay and can find no other vacancy it is fine but completely no frills. I would not go back unless I had no where else to go.

The negatives included:
The AC did not work.
You have to pay upon arrival - not departure.
The phone only rings the front desk or other rooms. You cannot dial out, even with a calling card. This is annoying at best and a safety hazard at worst.
Breakfast was hard boiled eggs and salami.
No Internet.
A very uncomfortable mattress.

I did not have the same issue with plumbing noise that earlier reviewers noted. It may be fixed by now.

The location of this place is absolutely amazing and perfect for a place to stay while in London. There are two tube stations within a 5 minute walk, Hyde park is at the end of the road and you can walk everywhere!

Our room was small but clean. The washroom was very clean too. The beds were made every day and we had new towels supplied. A free continental breakfast was included which consisted of croissants, meat, cheese, juice, coffee, cereal and yogurt. Basic, but free, so great! (It was only free because the apartment we were supposed to get was not available.)

As everyone else who has reviewed this place has mentioned the staff is not exactly oozing friendliness, but this in no way impeded our stay. The location was great and the price was affordable.

One suggestion for the hotel - get new pillows.

The hotel had a nice location and a nice price. However... by arrival the receptionist was very rude, didn't even bother to look up from his papers when he spoke to us. A hoover was stored away in the lift for our whole stay, leaving almost no room for ourselves. when bringing our suticases we had to go one by one. The room was very small, 4 of 8 lightbulbs were not working, hairdryer almost started burning and we were not able to lock the door. Staff were not willing to sort things out. We will never come back, and this is by far one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.

Hotel offers a very good value for money, it's close to center, bus station and underground are few minutes walk. Hotel is situated in very quiet street, opposite a Hyde Park. Only thing that we didn't like is the staff on reception, they don't speak English in the way they should, and you can't get any information from them. Room for breakfest is little bit small, but OK, also very nice breakfest. The thing we liked the most is location, so close to everything. We will stay here again.

Location is perfect but on arrival the female receptionist was lacking in communication skills. Not even any sort of welcome! Her linguistic skills were lacking!

My room was on the ground floor at the back. First impressions were good. Nice modern furniture with a flat screen TV. The down side was that the walls were filthy! In desperate need for a paint job and the TV did not work due to poor signal. The view from the window was a collection of air conditioning units on a wall.

This place has so much potential. People would return if they had a warm welcome and if the issues in the rooms were sorted. Everything that needs to rectified are the small things.

I went out for breakfast as I am keen on a full English when away and their breakfast is a little bit basc,

Room Tip: Dont stay in the dark ground floor room!

The room was up to our expectations - it was bigger than we expected, plus it had a kitchenette. We had a door to the "back yard", which was a 3x3 meters space between the buildings (its a plus though). There was free Wi-Fi, no problems with connection. The bathroom contained a shower, which was alright.
The only thing we were mispleased by in the room was the bed - too hard. Me and my lady woke up several times because of it.

The staff at the front desk was kind of cold and unfriendly, some of them couldn't speak good enough english. The housekeeping lady should work at the front desk instead, she was polite and kind.
By the way, the hotel is a total opposite to RyanAir, which provides a little space on their airplanes, but good service and safety. Why? Woke up from fire alarm one morning, came up to the lobby and took a look at the fire detector panel. One of detectors was flashing.
We were first up in the lobby, it seems that other guests took their time to put their clothes on, which was surprising. One of the guests had to come and get the receptionist from 43 (we were in 39 Suites, which don't have a front desk). She took a look at the fire panel and didn't know what to do. Then some seconds later another staff woman stormed in and simply TURNED OFF the alarm...????? I'm sorry, what?
I work in a hotel myself and one of the first things we learn is what to do when a fire alarm goes off. When it does, it's receptionists responsibility to FIND OUT what triggered the alarm and take action. When I asked if they would wish to check the detector, they replied "someone is probably smoking in the room". Wow, and what if the somebody HAVE been smoking in the room, but fell asleep with a cigarette and now is burning alive? If I was the owner of the hotel and saw that, the staff would be out on the street that instant. You don't hire a receptionist who can't take care of hotel's guests and make sure they have a nice and safe stay.

The breakfast lady was nice by the way - she asked everybody if they would like a cup of tea or coffee.

The location of the hotel is excellent with just a few minutes walking distance to both Queensway and Bayswater underground stations.
As we arrived in the morning our room wasn’t ready yet, but there was no problem leaving our luggage in the reception, as the luggage room was full.
We had booked a triple room and we were happily surprised as it turned out to be a two-room suite on the fourth floor. The bedroom that had one double- and one single bed was quite big for a London hotel. The “living room” had a sofa, a table and chairs as well as a kitchenette with complimentary coffee, sugars etc. The bathroom was a bit small, but all new and fresh.
Breakfast was fine and although the breakfast room was small we never had to wait to get seated.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
When cleaning the room (which was spotless) the cleaning staff made nice figures of the towels every day so it was a bit fun to see if there were towel swans, towel flowers or towel frogs on the bed. : )
Over all, the hotel was clean, quiet and nice. For the price you pay, it’s a great hotel!
