Description: Like the Tavistock itself, Jacques Wine Bar is a remarkable little place. Relish its ambience and relaxed sophistication overlooking the gardens of one of London's prettiest squares. You'll be delighted with the prices, too. Our bistro-style menu is simple and tasteful. Popular dishes include chorizo and green bean salad, cinnamon lamb with couscous, and grilled chicken in a brandy sauce. Lighter lunchtime options include delicious quiches and soups. And remember to ask about our daily specials! Celebrate your arrival in London with a great value bottle of Chablis or Sancerre. Then stroll out into leafy Tavistock gardens, confident that you found the best deal in town.

“Tasty basic dishes with a reasonable price”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

This restaurant serves dishes that are close to "Home Made Cooking" (for those who know how to cook...). Surrounded by fast-food restaurants of Russell-Square neighborhood, it is a quiet place where one can relax from a long journey as a London Tourist. The staff is helpful and the menu is enriched by temporary dishes every day. The orders are delivered within 20 minutes when the restaurant is not to busy. The dessert (Apple Pie for example) is above the average of what is usually served in this neighborhood. Tavistock Square is seen from the restaurant, which contributes to the peaceful atmosphere.

“OK'ish 3/5”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Wouldn't really rate this place, okay if tired and don't want to venture too far, but we ate here one day and choice quite limited and quality not great. Staff friendly, but food so so. I had sea bass, would't recommend. Many places nearby worthy of checking out.

“Not the place to make memories.”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Very ordinary. We ordered a bottle of white wine and initially received 2 glasses. We eventually received our bottle but had to ask for a wine bucket for which we waited until halfway through the meal.

“Wine and food!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Our family of four had an early dinner here and found both food and wine selection to our liking. The lamb curry was a bit bland (please add some salt!), but the cold meat platter was enjoyed by all. Some really good wines.
