“Great food”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

I had lunch here with my friends, the Falafel Burger is delicious, they also have a great wine list and the staff were very friendly. Myself and my friends all ordered something different and enjoyed every dish.

“Great wine, average food”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

Popped in for some wine with a colleague. The wine list is great and really good quality, especially the reds. Having been nice, what lets the place down, especially in comparison to other local places, is the food. We had the steak and kidney pudding which had more grissle than anything else. The first time we went the platters were ok but not exactly generous and some of the food was far from full of flavour. Overall ok but could be improved

“Business Lunch”
Reviewed 13 February 2013

My colleagues and I came in here for lunch whilst working in the area.

Service was quick and friendly plus the choices on the menu were pretty good with decent sandwiches to full meals.

There is also - I think - the feel of an earlier era about Davy's - you could quite easily imagine Rumpole of the Bailey sitting here consuming the House Claret over Steak and Kidney pudding ! For that reason as well I found it an interesting alternative to the coffee and sandwich outlets that we usually end up in.

Overall it was worth a visit and I'll return again

“Good steak”
Reviewed 4 October 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed a quick steak frites here for lunch. All steaks apparently from Donald Russell in Aberdeen. Decent wine list , could not comment on value ! Broad lunch menu, nice atmosphere and friendly although slightly in attentive staff....
