Description: The Rubens at the Palace is located on London's Buckingham Palace Road and plays home to the Rubens restaurants. The Old Masters' Restaurant serves some of London's finest traditional cooking, including a sensational rib of Aberdeen Angus with Yorkshire pudding and a mouth-watering buffet laden with delicious dishes. This grand carvery and grill room oozes old-world charm and elegance. The Library Restaurant serves award-winning modern British food in an intimate, relaxed environment with comfortable armchairs and a traditional-style decor. Its 2 AA Rosette standard cuisine features signature dishes including Cornish scallops or a delectable combination of Irish and Scottish salmon carved at your table and followed by New Forest venison or Dedham Vale fillet of beef. The Palace Lounge follows through from the Cavalry Bar and is a magnificent bright open space with views of the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, the Queen's stables. This is a great vantage point from which to spot the passing pageantry, a daily occurrence being so close to the palace! Guests love to enjoy an afternoon tea and watch the world go by, or at night a liqueur in one of the cosy armchairs. In the evenings, a pianist provides lively music and entertainment, helping guests relax and unwind in friendly surroundings.

“For Americans ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

Arrived at the hotel with no help from the door man with the luggage as we fell through the enter entrance. This hotel once inside is a paradise for the American market. With palace fixtures, interiors of regent splendour and smells of English history. The reception staff were friendly but extremely hard to understand as they spoke poor English. Our room was beautiful but sadly not so spacial as the reception and restaurants. You couldn't walk between the bed and main elevation walls .,bathroom was elegant and beautifully decorated and the bed once you got in to it was very comfortable . The breakfast was very American with no complaint from me as I love the way the Americans cook their bacon. Coffee was tasty with an European aroma ( French I think). Overhaul I would give this a 9 but sadly 8 due to the tiny rooms .

“"The best afternoon tea in London!?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We had a lovely tea with plenty to eat and extra sandwiches. An excellent choice of teas and the champagne was cold. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly and moved us away from the window when the sun became too hot and in our eyes! We have eaten several meals here and they were all excellent. This is the hotel where we spent our wedding night 40 years ago this year!

“Wonderful Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

Wonderful hotel, made us feel very welcome from our first encounter. Expecially appreciated Nathan, Tom and Paula for making our stay so nice. The room was lovely and actually larger than we expected for London. Great location next to Buckingham Palace and right across from The Mews, which we looked out at their gates from our room. Lovely appointments in our room and bath and lovely breakfast encluded. A special thanks for the lovely desserts for our anniversary and birthday celebration. Everything was great and we will return to the Rubens on our next trip to London.
