My husband and I had the pleasure of having tea at the Aubrey Restaurant recently. We were greeted at the door and shown to the lounge where tea was served. The room exudes old world charm with couches, marble tables and gilt framed oil paintings. Thanks to George service was friendly and relaxed. My husband selected green tea and I had Earl Gray. Both were good and the pots were refilled on request. Two double tiered plates of goodies promptly arrived. On one was an assortment of finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, cucumber, egg salad and ham) as well as scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. On the other was a variety of cakes (two carrot, strawberry shortcakes and almond) as well as a fruit tart and a creamy parfait. The food was delicious and plentiful. It was a lovely way to spend a wet and breezy London afternoon. I would highly recommend.
