“Very good for business lunches”
Reviewed 19 November 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Davy's has been a favourite of mine for many years. I work as a headhunter and I find it's a great place to entertain clients. In the morning you can meet for a coffee, and there are some very nice booths by the window (overlooking Minster Court) which are nice and discreet. At lunchtime you can have more formal dining in the restaurant or more casual dining in the bar area. The service is always very good and with a smile.

“Hidden treasure!”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

Tonight we had a marvelous dinner with my husband there, and the food, as well as the service, were outstanding. We were the only ones sitting inside and having a proper dinner, while all the other guests were in the outside area having drinks. I even felt sorry for them as they miss the chance to try all the tasty food the restaurant serves... So it was not at all crowded. They also don't play loud music so the guests can hold a proper conversation without shouting. The service was very rapid and courteous, and the food... Wow! I had an amazing goats cheese & chorizo salad with blueberries and raspberry dressing for the starter and a tender salmon fillet with mango, avocado and cucumber & chilli sauce, while my hubby had a Cornish crab pate (worth a try) and a sirloin. As for pudding, I had a British cheese plate and my hubby ate a wild berry pudding, both of which were excellent! The place really impressed both of us and I think we'll soon become regulars. The prices are also very and very acceptable for this part of London.

“Oasis”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

This is a very acceptable restaurant in a part of London not exactly teeming with decent places to eat. A big plus is that there is no loud music so you have a fighting chance of having a proper conversation. On my last visit I had a good crab pate with sour dough bread toasted perfectly, followed by a delicious summer pudding with icecream. My companion has what looked like an enormous chickem sandwich. The chips are not bad. Total for 2 including 2 soft drinks £40 which for these parts is not bad. Service very friendly and prompt. There is an extensive wine list. Nice outside area somewhat marred at the moment by all the noise from neighbour building work/lorries etc.

Popped in on spec with a collegaue and couple of key clients, very pleased with table, our server Chris was excellent, veery attentive but unobtrusive. Very good all round experience, all our steaks were spot on - Yep nothing but praise for a good all round experience - Highly recommended.

“Perfect lunch or post work dinner / drinks (business)”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

I work close by and met a friend there for lunch. We hadn't booked but we were found a table straight away. We both went for sandwiches, I had bacon and chicken with tarragon sauce and it was really tasty. And it's good value - two lunchtime mains and two soft drinks was £20.

There is a really extensive wine menu and there were lots of people in there having business lunches. It's really bright and airy and the service staff are great.

I did also go there a couple of months ago for a leaving do - they give you a really good sized area towards the back of the room with a private bar which is really good. The food that came out then was good too (finger food).

It feels like somewhere where you would only go if you work in the City but it's good value and worth going to.
