The food was especially good , we ordered the lobster noodles and the duck / charsiew. The portions are pretty large so its best recommended for sharing/ big groups

This place is a GOLD MINE. Stopped by after looking at other restaurants on the street. Place was packed and double in size from what you see. Ordered half duck deboned, add some rice, veggies (the broccolini is great) a bottle of wine and a fantastic dinner for two. The duck was tremendously good.

Restaurant was crowded, the Chinese foods were just "Okay", too oily for my taste. I honestly feel Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant was actually better. I think this place is just too overated.

Gold Mine at Bayswater is a firm family favourite for roast duck. No two ways about it. A local friend had wanted to bring me to Four Seasons for their roast duck, but after trying Gold Mine’s, she had to grant that the latter’s was superior. The duck with its sauce went superlatively well with just plain rice.
An added reason for visiting Gold Mine now is that they added dim sum to their menu not long ago. Quality is comparable to that of established dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. Their pepper duck bun, XO fried radish cake and chicken claws were standout items.
Along with many other out-of-town patrons who know of their reputation, I ordered a whole duck to take away for my flight back home. They have got this down to a T, providing vacuum packing on request for 50P per packing. Ask them to debone the duck, but ask for the bones as well because they make an excellent stock. Even the sauce is vacuum packed nicely in a bottle, ready to go,
London is the place for roast duck, and Gold Mine the place to go to for the best.

Came for an early lunch after just finishing a 14-day cruise and driving into London from Southampton (where we disembarked from the ship). Craving for Chinese food and Gold Mine was truly a fantastic find. We ordered the roast duck, roast pork, barbecued pork (char siew), rice rolls with prawns (chee cheong fun) and char siew buns (pau). The roast duck was outstanding - succulent and fatty, but not overly so. They offer the duck de-boned or with bones; for true flavor and experience - take the duck with bone and chew the yummy bits of flesh off the bones. The other dishes were also very authentic and good. We packed the char siew pau as a takeway and it was soft, fluffy and yummy even when eaten cold many hours later.
Service was polite and efficient, despite the tables filling fast. There was a complimentary plate of cut oranges as dessert, which was nice surprise.
Conveniently located within a 15 min walk from Paddington station where we later boarded the Healthhrow Express to the airport for our flight back home.
