I have been eating at this chain since I was 7 ( I'm now 34) both in France And in London. It used to be something special, great food at good prices. Saturday's visit left me really wondering if il ever go back. The service staff are so dammed rude( u get barked at if u dare to ask for butter- I had to order and pay for a cheese board to get a portion of butter for my 8 year old ) the portions and plates are smaller than they used to be, u are rushed thro Ur salad and told to keep it to the side if u not finished by time they want to give u Ur main! This defeats the point of an entree !! Wine ordered but was forgotten and again I was shouted at when I asked twice for it. And the price has been raised considerably for this pleasure!! I used to adore this place and so did everybody I recommended it too. Now I wonder if I was as pretentious as the loud rude city boys next to me and was really just deluded!! Unfortunately my daughter won't grow up Lovin this French institution as I did as I won't be taking her to a cheap, knock off version that this has become. Ps- it really does pain me to say this but please don't bother.

I used to love this restaurant when i fancied steak and chips. Love the one in Geneva . They could learn a lot from them :( They refused to give my husband Butter unless he paid for cheese and biscuits and then still reused him the butter till desert arrived . Why
The price seems fair till you hve to pay for your drink desert and coffee then 3 people with only soft drinks turns into £60 odd per couple . poor Luke warm food lots of it . And a wishy washy sauce over the poor quality steak

Go and try it for yourself. Polite but informal setting, food is delicious. Usually have a great bottled beer or nice house wine to go with the steak.

It's just a great place to eat.

Simple yet efficient: I know the old formule from Paris and am delighted it has come to London. Green Salade, with walnuts to start as Entrée; then an Entrecote steak, cooked to order: BLU (very rare), SEIGNON (Bloody), AU POINT (perfect for most), MEDIUM (well cooked) and INCINERATED (over-cooked, but some pople still like it that way). I was impressed that the waitress (Italian, spoke perfect English, had learnt in Dublin) marked our table cloth B (blu for me) and M (Mediumor Bien Cuit) for Alexis...and that is exactly what we got. PLUS Pommes Allumetes (chips, but fine cut like match-sticks). There were 2 helpings, enough for any male appetitie. The house wines were good and reasonable. The puddings excellent, I enjoyed my strawberries.
We had been warned about the QUEUES, but on 2 visits (the first one late at 10.45 and thee second early) there was NO queue and a minimum of 5 minutes wait for a table to be prepared)

Some of the best steak in London, in elegant atmosphere, your only choice is how you like the steak, then after a lovely dressed salad you have thin cuts of steak with fresh crunch fries and the special sauce. But the best is to come as they give you seconds :-) saves it getting cold on the plate. The house red wine is a great accompaniment, and if you save room there are profiteroles for desert. A top spot, recommended
