Enjoyed this pub which was located near our hotel in Bayswater. The food was excellent and it was nice that it wasn't part of the pub chain of restaurants.

We stopped in here on the off chance, as it looked like a nice trendy but cosy pub... and it is! It's a really cool little place, a bit off the beaten track, and far better than many of the pubs near Notting Hill or Bayswater stations. The food was good, and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly. The only thing that put us off a bit was sitting at the bar and seeing the barmaid scooping the froth off 3/4 of a pint of Kronenburg (which I guess had been poured in error) then putting the glass in the fridge. When I ordered my next pint of Kronenburg 10-15 minutes later, they tried to serve me that one topped up! Bit gross, so we always made sure we watched our drinks being poured all the way! That aside, it's a really nice pub, and we would definitely visit again, we'd just keep an eye on the drinks!!

We came here for our first meal on our arrival to the UK, partly because we wanted an English Pub meal and partly because it was only a block away from where we were staying.

As it was a Sunday, there was a great atmosphere due to the football being shown on the large TV screens. There were people there for the football, some for drinks and some there for dinner.

We had the plough mans, share BBQ plate and fish & chips. The food was good, but not outstanding. We'd probably return for the bar snacks and a pint if we were in the area.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, service was non existent, decor is OK, food was average. Would not try again. Bad recommendation by Rick Steves.

There are many good restaurants and pubs serving food in this area of west London. However, the staff and chef clearly know what they doing, great beer, perfect roast beef, big portions which makes this place a bargain. If you have room left, then there are a great selection of desserts. You don't have to have the roast (beef, chicken or lamb) there are many pub classics and a 16oz burger for the larger or brave customer. Just go, you'll enjoy it.
