Went there on a busy weekday lunchtime with a client. After we were shown to our table we were asked what we wanted to drink and we requested water - nothing too complicated. From then on we were literally left by the wayside with no drinks and no service. We were ignored by various waitresses serving the directly adjacent tables and when they were asked what was going on were met by the standard response 'it's not me but I'll go and ask someone else'. Clearly, staff motivation was in absence. The minutes ticked away and finally after remonstrations with various members of staff, including an apologetic server who blamed a 'dizzy' colleague and the slowness of the kitchen, someone came to take our order. To cut a long story short we waited for over half an hour for our starters to arrive. Our main dishes arrived soon after. The food was ok, nothing special. However, it is unnaceptable for customers to be forgotten like this. Manageress gave us her card, was very apologetic and promised to look after us better, next time. We were given two drinks on the house.

Thank you for taking the time to review Balls Brothers Bury Court. Please accept my apologies for your experience with us as it is far from the high levels of service that we normally pride ourselves on.

We are never normally understaffed and my apologies as this was a rare day where it impacted your visit. We have also taken steps to re-train our staff in the levels of customer service that we demand and so thank you for feeding back to us about that.

Please do contact us on the email address below as we would very much like to invite you back to show that this was a one off experience and vastly different to how we normally operate.

Kind Regards,

Bury Court Management

Bury Court is a place that has a real atmosphere and you feel very welcomed there. The whole team are on hand to help with a smile, and the place really gets going on a Thursday and Friday night.

I came in with a group of 10 for some after work drinks and we were welcomed at the door and taken to a table. We soon after had a waitress arrive to take our drinks order - something that didn't stop even with the large capacity of customers as the night went on.

Bury Court is a great place to come in the City for after work drinks.

Balls Brothers is set in a great location near the Gherkin. Lunch is good with a varied menu. Great bar if you like wine, plenty of choice and prices are OK.

Went for team lunch with work. The atmosphere is nice and buzzing with alot of 'suits' having lunchtime meeting drinks. The menu was simple and the food was not exciting. It made us full and we went back to work full of wine.

As a City worker for over 10 years, I know Bury Court has been around a long time. However, its's not till recently this has become our Company's favourite haunt. I come here at least 2-3 times a week with my colleagues.

The food served for lunch is outstanding. I would advise not to eat from the main menu, but instead choose a dish from the daily specials. One of my personal favourites is the Grilled Swordfish - very hard to come by these days! The specials are fresh food served simply and there's always an impressive selection all served at very reasonable prices - the value is fantastic!

Furthermore, once lunch is over we return to the office, only to then come back once work is done. There are HALF PRICE drinks from 5pm till 8pm every day! We've held company parties here, after-work drinks and the place is a melting pot for any socialite in the City. By far the most stylish and 'on-point' bar around.

By this I mean the music is always suitable for the time of day, never too loud and never too quiet - it's amazing how other bars just don't seem to get this right.

The atmosphere in the evenings is electric. People all around enjoying themselves whether it be for an intimate quiet drink with friends, or a buzzing party with a large group of colleagues. There also a large spacious outdoor area for smokers, or even if you want to grab the last of the day's sun.

The bar service always stays strong too. There are always adequate staff on hand to help with drink selection, waitress service all day and night, and I've never had a long wait at the bar - even during the very busy happy hours!

Expect the crowd to be a real mix of ages, professions and backgrounds, but most importantly expect them to be genuinely nice people with an air of respect and maturity toward one another.

I can't give the staff enough praise. They are always smiling, helpful and no job is ever too big for them. Again, it's so hard to find this nowadays in bars around the area, but the staff here take so much pride in their work its refreshing to see, and it reflects in their service.

In particular, the General Manager John (I forget his surname) has transformed this venue from what was just another 'face in the crowd,' into an exciting, bustling and great place to be. He's always on hand to help further, always a smile on his face, and really seems to care. Again, another rarity in this day and age.

It's so good to see a place that recognises and rewards your loyalty rather than take it for granted!

Overall - an outstanding achievement in food, drink, atmosphere, service and value and I hope to still be visiting in years to come!
