“A miserable experience... again!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

My last review of this venue was in November 2011. I visited again for breakfast last weekend. Sad – though not altogether surprised – that little has improved. Premium prices should be accompanied by at least a half-decent level of service. This place continues to have poorly trained, poorly managed and miserable waiters lacking any customer skills or warmth (perhaps they model themselves on the miserable-looking maître d’ who walks around doing very little at all?), yelling to each other across the restaurant floor, not checking whether the food delivered meets expectations, then whipping plates away before the whole party has finished. Moreover, the quality of the food on this occasion has probably also gone downhill along with the service – an eggs florentine overladen with spinach as though it was going out of fashion, and eggs royal drowned in so much hollandaise sauce it should have come in a bowl. I will continue to avoid and go somewhere else in future. The bill for the aforementioned eggs Florentine, eggs royal and two medium lattes came to £23!!

“Regularly great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014 via mobile

I used to live nearby and visited Del Aziz for a take out order or sit down lunch at least once a month. I always found the customer service to be excellent and the food delicious. The take away cakes in particular were a favourite with friends and family thoroughly enjoying them too.

“Chain cannot keep up”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2014 via mobile

Quality of a chain restaurant like this compares badly with superb restaurants 500 yards away (Zucca, Jose etc) on Bermondsey Street.
On a positive note breakfast great & best place for wonderful cakes for miles.

“Abysmal food and unprofessional staff”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

Went in for a Sunday lunch and was greeted by an unprofessional maître' d who wouldn't take a simple order for coffee...unusual. I then waited 15 minutes for a simple americano having waited 8-10 minutes for a waitress. I asked for a simple sandwich which, upon arrival, looked like it had been slapped together for a child's school lunch...akin to eating cardboard. Clueless management, appalling food and inexplicable waiting times. AVOID at all costs. Tables around me also visibly annoyed at the delays.
