I have to give this place kudos on the quality of food served. It is simply superb, fresh and organic, I cannot complain about the food. If we were going strictly on food it would be 5 stars, but then we are not going strictly on the food so I have to take off 1 star for the too high prices and then another two stars for the service

The main complaint I have about this place is the staff. They are the only things that put me off going in there when I really fancy a poached egg on rye-bread toast in the mornings. If they aren't busy purposefully ignoring you, they are speaking you in a patronising manner or just hanging around looking bored like they were strong armed into work by the staff at the local mental hospital. There is only one woman in there who is polite and friendly and unfortunately she cooks rather than serves.

Working in the adjacent office block, I use the Clerkenwell Kitchen a lot for business lunches. On this occasion it was very busy, which caused a slight delay in ordering but the food when it arrived was excellent as usual. The kedgeree was fantastic and the chocolate brownies were top notch. They also make a great coffee. Not cheap but definitely worth it. Would recommend to anyone unless you're in a rush as it does get busy and there can be a wait.

The Clerkenwell Kitchen is a real hidden gem. The daily dishes are simple and scrumptious with a heavy emphasis on sustainable and seasonal food. They may be buzz words at the moment but important buzz words all the same.

Me and a friend went to their Portugese supper club and had a brilliant time, great food and too much wine. Such a great atmosphere. I came away completely satiated and will def be going to the next one in the new year. If you haven't tried their deep fried olives stuffed with anchovies ....you' re missing out.

Have been to The Clerkenwell Kitchen several times now and can't wait to go back for more each and every time. It has a lovely relaxed ambience to it and the food is just well amazing! Really fresh and delicious and new items on the menu every time i've been. They also have started running Supper Clubs in the evening which are a true taste adventure. One of London's hidden gems I could not recommend this place more.

Came here for lunch, we all ordered steak - it took 40minutes for our steaks to be served, they said they would all be Medium and they were all over cooked, the chips were like crisps and way to over cooked also. The female waitress was sarcastic, rude and slow, we had to ask twice for mayonnasie and when it did arrive it was totally tasteless. When we asked how long our meal was going to take we were treated as if we were the inconvenience and to top it all off the menu prices on the website were different to the menu in the restaurant - in fairness they gave it to us at the website price as it was cheaper but after we were given a 5minute lecture about the steak manufacturer and actual cows, which is not something we actually needed to know.
All in all we will not be returning which is a shame as we work opposite it and it would have been handy as a new lunch time venue.
