Owner description: Ripping Yarns have been the leading Jack the Ripper tour into Whitechapel for over 25 years. We remain a small Company who believe that small Group Sizes and personal interaction will surpass your expectations, as opposed to the Larger Advertised Companies who now Operate in the area. The Tour is recommended in the Rick Steves Guide book to London. The cost is just £8.00, Where else could you get a great night in London for that price? But perhaps the best measure of the Tour comes from our many customers. which are a fitting testament to the level of satisfaction. All the Guides are serving Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) at the Tower of London, so you can be assured that your Guide knows how to conduct a tour properly and "tell a tale" the content is such that it weaves the story of Jack the Ripper, the social background and the history of the area, helping to paint the most vivid mental picture of life and death in London's East End, this is backed up by Crime Scene Photographs, Letters and Evidence, you will not just get some "off pat script" or gimmicks but an up close and personal story.

“Brilliant and well worth the money”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

We arrived just on time for the tour, I attended with my mother and sister who are both interested in touristy things. I was not really looking forward to walking around listening to a guide talking about Jack the Ripper, but how wrong was I! Ken our guide was brilliant, funny and kept us guessing throughout, he was very interesting to listen too and he got the audience involved. I honestly think the tour guide made the tour with his knowledge and he showed a genuine interest in the safety of the group and made everyone feel welcome. Well done ken I really enjoyed it

“Jack the Ripper Tour”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

We took this tour on the spur of the moment as we had arrived at Tower Hill station too early for the tour we had originally planed to take, and I am so glad. Jimmy our guide was informative, entertaining and charismatic. The tour provided in equal measure a mixture of social history and gore and thrilled throughout. Jimmy, who's day job is at the Tower of London as a Beefeater, led the tour with passion and professionalism and we left the group feeling enlightened, educated and entertained. The payment of £8.00 per person was optional but we were more than happy to pay.

We loved this tour. Dickie was animated and so knowledgeable. We learned so much about the events surrounding the Jack the Ripper murders. Definitely something unique and different to do in London!

“Very interesting!!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

For £7 per person paid in advance online, this was two hours of interesting facts all about Jack The Ripper. Barney was our guide and he was brilliant. Animated, knowledgeable and funny to the extent that our interest was captivated for the whole two hours...

The facts were spelt out, pictures were provided of how it was then to allow the comparison and it ended with some realistic theories of who Jack The Ripper actually was... Beer before and beer afterwards made it a good afternoon for two adults and I would definitely recommend!!!

“highly recommended”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

£8 for 2 hours of entertainment is amazing value in London! Dickie the host is a beefeater at the tower and a fountain of knowledge. Was sceptical thinking a 2 hour tour could get as bit boring but me and my girlfriend were fascinated and Dickie's enthusiasm is infectious. Can't imagine other tours being as good, we saw a few other groups out and about that had costumes etc but they didn't have Dickie! Highly recommended
