Amazingly central to everything, close to a metro station and in walking distance to the Big Ben and London Eye. Gets extremely noisy during day/night due to train station next door, so make sure you bring ear plugs.

Fantastic service, working facilities and clean rooms.

Room Tip: Earplugs, you need earplugs.

The walrus, Hmmmm Good mix of people, central to basically everything that you want to see in London, Really easy to get on the tube and tube around everywhere. depends on what room you get but there is about 30 train tracks outside your window. But this seems to be a common thing among hostels... be it either chickens, trains, people, bugs, trikes, or bars... something is always outside your window... I don't mind, I bring ear plugs and go outside... don;t stay in your room, thats lame anyway. Good times PC

This is a great place to stay in London.
It’s a hostel with a pub downstairs. You get a 15% discount on all drinks & Happy hour is from 5 to 7pm.

You check in at the bar & the staff are very friendly & helpful. Don’t hesitate to ask them for advice on anything while you’re in London. Check-in starts at 2pm but there is a luggage room where you can leave your stuff if you arrive early and if you get there before 10am, they’ll even offer you breakfast.

The hostel is extremely central, a five minute walk from Big Ben, the London eye & Southbank. Within walking distance It is very easy to find from the underground station Lambeth North, which is just 300 meters away. You are also just five minutes away from Waterloo station & there’s a bus stop around the corner. Supermarkets, bank, bars & restaurants are just minutes when not seconds away.

They have 4, 6, 10 & 18 bed dorms. One of the 4 bed dorms is girls only & the other one features a sink & a mirror. They also have 1 private room available.

The rooms & bathrooms are very clean & the beds are extremely comfy, especially the pillows !

You get free lockers in the rooms but bring your own padlock, there is a kitchen for use & one or more showers on each floor, toilets are separated.

Additional services include free wi-fi, free maps, free towels & earplugs (ask for them at the bar), adaptors & padlocks for rent. You can also leave your valuables at the bar and they will take care of them for you.

Breakfast from 8 to 10am at the bar downstairs is included and consists of toasts, cereals, cookies, fruits, orange & apple juice, milk, tea & coffee.

You can access the building anytime. When the bar is closed, you just enter through the back door with a code. You also have a code to your dorm. This makes the place feel really safe & secure.

You must check out before 11am but you can still use the showers, kitchen, toilets & of course the luggage room until your departure.

It does get quite noisy at night because it is so close to public transport. We slept with the window open but other people closed it and said they were not bothered at all.

I posted lots of pictures there : http://cappuccinofields.com/2013/08/27/the-walrus/

Things that makes Walrus is the best hostel are the awesome staffs and nice bar that create friendly atmosphere.. comfortable common area, free wifi, unlimited and can be accessed from the room. The hostel is not too big which a good point, so you can be more familiar with other travelers. very good location, only 2min from the tube and many restaurants around.. Love it :)

The Walrus Hostel is by far one of the best I have ever seen. The showers were cleaned daily, beds were re-made once a week and after check-out, and there's a pub right below your room!

Luckily, the pub closes at 11pm to 12am throughout the week, so noise was never an issue. Also, there are two door access codes that are needed to get to your room (via the front door), making the hostel very safe and secure. The Walrus has luggage storage, a safe for valuable items, and lockers in the rooms.

We stayed in a 16 bed dorm, and it felt like there were only 6 people in the room. It really is a nice place to stay.

If I'm ever in London again, I will be back at the Walrus, just to be a stone's throw from Big Ben and the London Eye again!

The Walrus hostel is a really great, chilled out hostel in a convenient location only a minute from the tube station (Lamberth North). Its walking distance to a lot of the main attractions and has a really relaxed, social vibe. Breaky in the morning was great. Special mention to owner, Alex, who could not do enough to help everyone out and make sure we were being looked after and having a good time - he's fantastic! Only minor negative is it can get a little noisy at night because its so close to public transport but we were so tired at the end of our big days it didn't bother us. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visitng

Its right over a pub, so that's already a major plus. Its down the street from the underground which is really convenient, the staff are all super nice and helpful it was overall a great experience. The free breakfast was pretty good, I'm sure I drank all their apple juice. They offer towels there are a good amount of outlets in the rooms, there are a decent amount of showers, though I would recommend waking up a bit early so you can snag a good shower. The only thing that I didn't really like was that it was right next to a bunch of train tracks, so make sure you bring ear plugs!
