My sister and I on entering The Walrus, were greeted by the sight of an adorable trendy bar and very friendly staff. Their luggage room isn't large but is only accessed by staff so you know your stuff is secure. You get free breakfast (choices of toast, fruit, cereal, juices etc.) and can use the small kitchen upstairs (only downside there is we put some food in the fridge for later and it either got pinched or thrown out). The toilet was separate from the sinks for some reason but the shower was private (top level) which was nice. The beds were a bit squeaky and the floor needed a vacuum. The lockers aren't big enough for your luggage but have plenty of room for your valuables. Our first night was really good but the second was filled with snorers and drunk people in and out getting sick in the bathroom. Drunks aren't very good with remembering the door code either. So, it depends on who your roommates are really. So, if you're willing to go a little more bohemian, this is a great place in a great location with really friendly helpful staff (which made all the difference on our trip as a whole).

Room Tip: If you're not good with stairs (watch your step btw), you might want a room on the lower level but we were on the top level and being higher helped dull the traffic/train noise

I believe this is probably one of the better hostels in London, but I would weigh the pros and cons before you choose it. Pros: Excellent location, free breakfast, great wifi, helpful staff, luggage storage, great atmosphere. Cons: Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept.in, fickle showers, cleanliness not great, door code to room never worked and lockers are not big enough for backpacks/suitcases.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the walrus hostel for two nights and had a blast. The staff were great, gave us all the information we needed for the hostel even offered to carry our bags up to our room. The bar downstairs was great. Had a great atmosphere and everyone was welcoming and friendly, it was really easy to meet people. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only downside is that the hostel is located next to Waterloo overground station so it's a bit noisy, didn't bother us but might bother a light sleeper and the rooms could do with a lamp or something there is one light in the room and that's it, so it's hard to not disturb the other people in the room whilst trying to get to your bed. Apart from that the hostel is great fun

Downstairs is a relaxed funky bar where prices are 15% off with free Wi-Fi . You can bring in food to eat there with your drink as they only sell crisps. The Walrus is a short walk from Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Station. You can hear trains but they didn't bother me. I stayed on the top (4th) floor (no lift) in the top bunk (with easy climb ladder :-) ) of a two bunk room (Wi-Fi in room too). Basic but clean and fresh for a hostel with good clean bathroom facilities. Serve yourself breakfast in bar includes muesli, and wholemeal toast. There are some good places to eat nearby too.

Room Tip: I chose a small female only dorm. Though it was up a lot of stairs I was happy with my choice.

This hostel had such a great vibe to it! Just by looking at the pictures you can see how great it looked. I don't really have any complaints at all about this hostel. The price was good and the location was amazing. It was walking distance from the London Eye, Big Ben, and the tube. And the tube is so easy to navigate! The staff was friendly and I definitely would recommend staying here. Hopefully I'll be able to visit London again, if so you already know where I'll be staying!
