For the money, not bad at all. I was on the ground floor close to the office, dining room etc, so it was quite noisy. Room was very small though it was just a place to sleep, so I can't really mark it down for that.

My husband and i stayed here for one night as it was my husbands son's wedding at islington town hall, and the room was great we stayed in the budget room and it was clean and comfortable too. The breakfast was all well laid out for you to help yourselves though it was a continental one it was all very nice.

Pros: Safe, clean, comfortable, convenient to public transportation, convenient for walking, GREAT breakfast included with room (seriously, the continental breakfast was way above average. I got down to it late in the morning and everything was well-stocked and delicious.)

A few minor Cons: spotty WiFi, TV with virtually no reception, and a bathroom with no vent (room got pretty humid after a shower)

I'm often skeptical of staying at places that are so much cheaper than others around it, but this place was pretty nice. The room was small, but overall it met my needs and was better than expected. Great value.

Basic would be the best word to describe this place.
Its not a hotel. I'd say its a hostle.
Its not called the Islington Inn its Tommys something or other & is actually rooms in a curry house.
This is not an area for tourists wanting to visit London. This is a residential area.
We were here purely for the Sara Bareilles concert in the nearby Islington Assembly Hall, so literally only 'slept' here.
Our room was in the basement. It wasn't great. There was a double & single bed, however there was a humidifier & some unknown peice of hardware & chunky industrial electrical extention jammed down the side of the bed so we both slept in the rock hard double bed instead.
When I say slept I actually mean for the 4 hours furniture wasn't being noisily dragged about in the restaurant above our heads.
The room was grubby but the bedding was clean.
The guy on reception was friendly enough.
However I saw things in the first 10minutes after arriving that I've never seen before in my 41 years of life.... I felt on edge the whole time especially as it was just me & my daughter. As such we got up & packed as soon as we could stand the dragging noises no longer & were checked out & sat in Wetherspoons for breakfast before 9am!
I'd never stay here again, it was awful. I'd never stay in Islington again, it would be easy enough to travel to & from the Assembly Hall as the tube station is close by.
I'd certainly not recommend either the hotel or area to tourists wanting to visit London.
