Came here for dinner with a group of friends. One of our friends have the Taste card so could use it for 50% off a la carte items in the menu. Service was very attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere and noticed that it was a favourite drinking place for proffesionals working in the City/Bank area.
Ordered the seared mackerel with chorizo as a starter. Flavourful and mackerel fillets were crispy and spiciness of the chorizo bits really adds a different dimension to the oily mackerel fillets.
Had the Asian inspired five spice Barbary duck as main. I felt my duck breasts was slightly overcooked and a bit touch although I have requested for medium-well done. Perhaps I should have asked for medium. The flavours were definitely nice though.
Chose the marinated strawberries with elderflower custard. Very refreshing and absolutely loved the hint of elderflower in the custard.
Overall a very nice little cosy establishment by the side of busy Gresham street. Enjoyed the meal very much.
