“Private Walking Tour”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

My sister and I went on a Private Walking Tour with Sue. She was a great guide! We went to the Tower of London, walked through "The City", and traveled through some of Royal London. I would highly recommend a Private Day Tour. Sue was able to focus the tour on things we wanted to see. Sue pointed out a lot of unique treasures that we would not have noticed otherwise. We even went into the basement of a hair salon to get a sneak peak of Roman Ruins in the middle of the City!

Overall, it was a great tour!

“Context Walking Tours - Excellent everywhere”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

I have taken many Context walking Tours in New York since 2010 and loved the variety of choices, consistently excellent docents and great service. This time when I visited London, I decided to squeeze three tours in the week I was there. I was not disappointed. I loved the attentiveness, knowledge and excellent planning of the two docents, Ruth and Philippa, as well as learned a lot about Westminster Abbey, Jewish London and Handel and the Baroque Court. I love the concept of Context, a mix of exercise and focusing on an aspect of history, culture, region or topic led by professional and passionate docents. It is also lovely to be able to build friendships with the other people in the group and it is easy since the waking tour groups have a maximum of six people each. Will definitely keep joining Context Walking Tours in the different parts of the world.

“Westminster Abbey and National Gallery”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

While in London we took two tours with Context Travel. Westminster Abbey was a small group tour of three and the National Gallery was a private tour. Both tours were excellent. The tours guides were terrific, highly versed in the subject matter and very interesting and personable. Each was able to make the experience come alive. I highly recommend Context Travel and look forward using them again on our next trip.

“The best Tour Group in the world!”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

This is our 3rd and 4th tour with Context Travel. We toured Rome and Florence with Context and last week we did London. We were 6 adults on our first visit to London. The first tour we did was to the British Museum with Caroline. I cannot begin to tell you what an incredible tour guide, Caroline was. We are Americans who have lived in Europe and the middle east so we have traveled a lot and seen much. Caroline was very well informed and articulate. We spent over 3 hours with her where we learned so much and had such a wonderful time. She was a delight!
The next day we spent the whole day with Sarah Jane who was as good as Caroline. She picked us up at our hotel and we began our journey getting on a bus traveling to Parliament and Westminster Abbey. What an amazing morning we had! For lunch we were so very lucky to get into the Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese built in 1667. Charles Dickens use to go there. What an incredible pub and we had drinks in the bar and then a delicious lunch on the 3rd floor. The afternoon was spent exploring the areas where Dickens use to live. The Charles Dickens house is worth seeing. Sarah Jane walked us for hours and we had the most wonderful time with her. She fit right into our family as did Caroline. Wonderful, intelligent, interesting and lovely British women we had for 2 days! Lucky us! We love Context Travel and will only use them in the future!

“British Museum Walking Tour”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

We recently booked a walking tour for our family while we were in London with Dr. Lawrence S. Owens, PhD, through Context Travel. Dr. Owens is a Bioarcheologist and Physical Anthropologist at the University of London. His academic knowledge coupled with an extraordinary ability to communicate complex topics in fun and engaging ways made it the high point of our London visit and an absolutely unforgettable day. We would heartily recommend this tour. In addition to his outstanding academic credentials, Dr. Owens has a very personal connection with the British Museum in that his mother worked at the museum for many years, so his familiarity with the exhibits and the museum itself goes far beyond a purely academic interest. Bravo and 5 stars!!
