I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels in central London and this is the best experience I have had so far. Will definitely return. We were upgraded at check in to a 'feature room', which was lovely. Hotel is very clean, staff friendly, helpful but not OTT. The hotel is 'alive' with history and has been very sympathetically restored to provide a lovely experience for guests. We only stayed for one night and visited the glorious nearby Victoria park; which was full of trees in blossom and borders full of colourful tulips...well worth a visit and much better than Hyde Park....especially if as we did, you have time to visit 2 great London pubs at either end of the park...the Crown and The Inn on the Park...both very busy early Saturday evening when we visited, real ales, good atmosphere and reasonable priced pub food. We also visited Brick Lane with it's eclectic mix of coffee houses, fashion shops and pre owned items and jewellery shops( 20 minutes walk from hotel, thank you to reception staff who provided map and guidance). Although the location is not the best in London, the central line tube is just 5 mins walk away. We decided to stay in the 'real' East end part of town and glad we did. We will definitely return. Thoroughly recommended. Pam & Mike W.

Room Tip: Ask for a feature room or upgrade if possible....well worth it!

Dear Guest, it is really true the East End has something special in it, a melting pot of cultures, spices, food, people and nice places, we love it and that is why our hotel is located here. We are so glad when all our guests discover it, enjoy it and look at us like the key holders of this magic world. Thank you for your nice words left on Tripadvisor, which without doubt will be used by many other travellers to choose the right destination for their stay in London, the Town Hall Hotel. I am glad that the hotel itself played an important role in your stay and that every department added to an already nice experience. We will keep on with our philosophy and we will grant you many other wonderful stays. Many Thanks and kind regards, Sandro Desole

A very good Hotel!!!! We went for Easter with my wife and son. Two fantastic rooms connected . The swimming pool and the Gym are clean and very confortable. The people at the Check inn and at the Concierge are very professional.
The Hotel is a former Town Hall of a London district and the job that they did is unbeliavable. Beautiful common rooms . The area is quite and peaceful . A real good choice

Room Tip: Rooms 111 and 109 are 2 beautiful rooms that can be connected (Family)

Found this hotel on Jetsetter for a decent price for a hotel of this quality (but see below). The location is fine - close to Bethnal Green Tube station. The building itself is beautiful and the design of the hotel is very well done although sometimes I feel these butique hotels are a little pretentious in their design. Friendly front desk staff and the hotel and my room was clean. I had ordered a room with two beds but got one with a double bed but they fixed it swiftly. The beds are comfortable and the shower is very good. The swimming pool is small and cold .... but looks nice. Didn´t have dinner at the hotel but the bar and the breakfast area is nice and the coffee is excellent. I had a major issue the last night of my 4 night stay. The fan/aircon in my room was so loud I could not sleep and I was unable to turn it off in my room. The front desk told me again and again they would take care of this from their control station but they did not. I was unable to fall a sleep until 4 am totally ruining the next day as I had an early start. When checking out the next morning I voiced my frustration to the front desk and the hotel manager and the only thing I got was an apology - which could be expected. I expected something more: offering me a free night/discount/drink at the bar or some kind of value for ruining my night and the next day. For this reason I am not staying at this hotel again and would not recommend it to friends. Things like these of course happen ... but how you deal with it is when hotels really show how they value their guests and Town Hall Hotel showed me that they really did not care if I slept or not or if I left there happy or unhappy with my stay.

Room Tip: Don´t stay in room G24

Great 5 star hotel- large suites, modern furnishings, quiet rooms, kitchens, washer/dryers. Recommend for business travelers on extended trip, seasoned travelers to London and those who need a quiet spot.

Exceptional building + sensational design and furnishing + attentive and helpful staff = heaven for the lucky guest!
Not to mention the wonderful bedding and pillows and an overall attention to detail everywhere you look, from the amazing art pieces in the lobby to the cucumber-flavoured water kindly offered at check-in
Being a fan of modernist design I was just overwhelmed with the setting of my huge lower ground floor room, which felt more like an appartment with a fully equiped kitchen and dining table - at first I was not sure about LG floor but it turned out to be very nice, quite and cosy, with enough natural light coming from the windows at pavement level.
Breakfast is a treat too, with lots of delicious breads to choose from, all in all very good value. Will definitely book the Town Hall again, and for a longer stay hopefully!

Dear Guest, what a nice equation you highlighted in your review left on Tripadvisor, thank you for these kind words. I was particularly pleased to read that you stayed in our spacious lower ground rooms and even having a concern you tried it and the result was great. These rooms are among the most spacious in the whole building and the very fact that they are in the lower ground causes some misunderstanding. Your note on the natural light was enlightening. I am glad you enjoyed the total Town Hall experience and I take you on your last words, please come to visit us soon. Many Thanks and Kind Regards, Sandro Desole

Located a 3 minute tube ride from Liverpool Street on the central line, and a 5 minute walk form Bethnal Green tube, this hotel is worth its weight in gold.

You would not get a central London hotel of this standard for the price.

Staff are welcoming, and always talk when you pass through reception. Fantastic rooms, clean, spacious, new, and as other people have commented on, quiet.

Free water and milk is available in reception.

Stayed here twice in the last 3 weeks, and look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Dear Guest, how nice it is to read that the Town Hall Hotel has a special place in your heart! Thank you for the nice review left on Tripadvisor. Many things can change during the years especially in the hotel business, people comes and go, staff changes, improvements are done..but to read that we still are rated “excellent” is a confirmation that the changes do not affect us and the structure is as flexible as the business require. Rest assure we will keep on our program and always look after our guest! See you next time. Many Thanks and Kind Regards, Sandro Desole
