Incredible and unique hotel. Like all the other reviewers, I was impressed by the design and architecture of the heritage building. There were cool, curious pockets of space all over the hotel, where you might find a vintage barber chair, a witty carpet, or a unique piece of art. The service was incredible, the staff earnest and helpful.
We were traveling as a family (2 adults, 1 baby) and stayed for 5 days in a 2 bedroom apartment, which was incredibly spacious. Our room had high ceilings and lovely, full height windows. Breakfast was a treat as the restaurant was charming, filled with beautiful vintage lights, and you could sneak a peek into the old town hall (for which the building was named).
It was so much more meaningful to us to stay in a hotel which had a unique British heritage and character than in a soulless, modern hotel in town. It was also excellent value, with the room service half the price of what you would expect to pay in a similar hotel in the Mayfair district.
Don't let the edgy Bethnal Green location turn you off, because it is literally on the Central line and only 3 stops away from Oxford Circus.
Loved it, will be back.
