Description: Viet Garden is a family run restaurant priding itself in fresh tasting authentic Vietnamese cuisine. We owe a lot to our mothers and the food that they served us when we were young. We were so endeared to the culture they passed on, that a large inspiration for our restaurant and the food we serve comes from those traditional roots. We pride ourselves on the fresh, healthy, delicious, quality home-style cooking traditionally from the Mekong River delta, Huế, Sài Gòn and Hà Nội. We hope to share with you this love we have for our mothers and the healthy, tasty and nutritious food that they served. We look forward to seeing you soon.

I ate here in a group on six. The ladies serving were polite, timely and personable. The food was very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the spring rolls which are served in the way I like them most, with mint, lettuce and dipping sauce. Meat dishes are of a generous size so we all felt happily full at the end. We ate and drank very handsomely and only paid £19 each including the tip. I thoroughly recommend this place - it should be busier given that it's so close to Upper Street.

When you have a limited slot of time for lunch but want a decent meal, here is a place to go. It is a no fuss Vietnamese restaurant but service is quick and cheerful and helpful if you want some guidance on what to choose. I had the most delicious bowl of vermicelli noodles with jasmine tea. All for a few quid including service. I shall certainly eat there again.

The odd mix of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes gives the game away (Hot and Sour Pork, Crispy Duck Pancakes). But inauthenticity would be fine were the food good -- but it is not. There are many far superior Vietnamese restaurants in London, as well as Chinese ones!

Being a native of Vietnam myself, I can't agree more with a previous reviewer that the food here is definitely NOT Vietnamese. In addition to the rather depressing outdated decor, the food is a derivative of bad greasy Chinese food, quite reminiscent of food from an inferior Chinese take-away. Vietnamese cuisine stands alone in its balance of delicate spices, light flavour and healthy ingredients, combined with clever use of fresh herbs. Nothing of this can be found here. The Vietnamese food range on offer at Marks & Spencer is of higher quality! Bon appetit.

If you are looking for good, fresh food, which is not overpriced, this is the perfect place. We visit regularly and have done for 9 years. We have never had a bad meal here in all that time. For starters try the deep fried aubergines or spicy ribs or the Vietnamese pancake. For mains, it has to be the special pho. No other restaurant does it better, even in Hanoi. After eating here once, you will go back.
