It was a great pity that my stay at the wonderful Dean Street Townhouse concluded with an unseemly fracas about the bill, the receptionist insisting that the booking agent hadn't taken payment (they had), that I still needed to pay for the room (I didn't), that she had tried to take payment (she hadn't), that my card had been declined (it hadn't), etc. In every other respect the hotel was fantastic.
My "broom cupboard" bedroom was small but perfectly formed and full of character. The bed was big and very, very comfortable, and the room was remarkably quiet given the central Soho location; I slept like a log! The little touches like fresh milk in the mini-bar and the extensive offering of complementary Cow Shed toiletries made all the difference. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel's location was extremely convenient. I thought the hotel offered good value for money. With the exception of the unfortunate (and, I'm sure, exceptional) fiasco described above, the service was excellent.
Certainly, I will go back and I would not hesitate to recommend the Dean Street Townhouse.More
