“Excellent hotel”

We stayed in a (spotlessly clean!) studio suite – very comfortable bed & sofa, 2 big TVs, powerful shower (v important), and views of Houses of Parliament and the London Eye… was tempting to spend the whole weekend in the room! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of negative points..as lovely as the spa area is, it was full of kids both times we went. That makes me sound a bit miserable, but for me, a sauna/steam room should be relaxing, but the kids were quite noisy and kept opening and closing the door, letting the heat out. Also couldn't get any swimming done because of the kids playing in the pool. While it would be unfair to exclude kids altogether from the spa area, I think the ‘adults only’ time (currently 8pm-8am) should be extended. Also, even though the hotel is centrally located, it takes a long time to get through the crowds of tourists as you walk across Westminster Bridge. I’d suggest walking to Waterloo tube station rather than Westminster tube as the hotel stuff suggest; much quicker and less traumatic! Overall though, we were very happy with our stay – we’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

A big hotel in a convenient location but it manages the numbers well so we had no problems at lifts, breafast, gym etc.
Studio room excellent for staying with teenager as they get their own section of the room and the fold down bed was judged very comfy. Good big bed, shower etc and maid service efficient.
Interesting view over Waterloo station and the City in the distance, so no need to pay extra for Big Ben etc. The hotel is set back from the river so you're always looking over stuff anyway.
A couple of minutes from Waterloo underground with Northern and Jubilee lines. Look out for the passenger bridge from one end of the station over to the street towards the hotel - otherewise you end up traipsing round from the other exits to find it.
Breakfast was pentiful and good - buffet so choice cos of variety not customisation.

2 Issues for the hotel:
The gym and particularly the pool area need to be kept clean / cleared of water in changing rooms, steam room etc. With a lot of people using the facilities this needs attention to keep up the cleanliness standard. The pool was darkly lit and it was disturbing to find lots of hair floating about. Both my daughter and wife said the same thing individually about different times.
The staff at breakfast were friendly but greeted you at 10:20 onwards with a long stare at their watch and a lecture about how the brek service closed at 10:30. Yes, we're on holiday.

We stayed three nights and used the sofa extrabed. It worked well for us, a family with two teenagers.

Stayed here four times this year. Lovely quiet rooms, modern stylish decor, free internet. The layout of this hotel means the cheaper rooms are looking into the atrium, and as this is in a 'V' shape, your window can be only a few metres from the opposite window. This means that many people can look directly into your room when the curtains are open, or when you have the lights on at night. That's about the only downside. The outside rooms are better, and many of them are 'studios' with a small living area which has a double sofa bed, a kitchenette with microwave, sink, and some eating utensils. The bathroom is stylish with a large deep bath and separate shower. I found the pillows to be very soft and flat, perhaps there is a pillow menu - I didn't ask. There is a cafe in the lobby serving Illy coffee. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the London eye, and directly across Westminster bridge from the houses of parliament. Just far enough away from the tourist crowds, but close enough to walk into the centre of London, or take a bus from outside the hotel.

The room wasn't large and there was no view from the room but it was very modern with lots of bells and whistles. Free tea and coffee making, good size TV with pay tv channels, modern bathroom with bath and shower and exceptionally clean. The Hotel was central to Big Ben and Westmister Abbey with buses right out the front to get you anywhere. Dinner in the bar was great with exceptional service and reasonable prices. The breakfast had everything and seemed to cater for the British, european and American tastes with middle rasher bacon as well as strip bacon. Staff were all friendly and made it a very pleasant stay. Mind you it isn't cheap but there were no air and graces, just good service with a smile

Room Tip: soem rooms have views - try to get one of those.

Modern, clean, friendly, convenient and a FABULOUS London location. Within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, St James Park... easy taxi or tube ride to Picadilly Circus and a reasonable (40 minute) commute via taxi to Heathrow.

Room Tip: The 'Iconic View' rooms are worth every penny.

we really enjoyed our stay here and made use of the Mandara Spa on our first afternoon which was completely perfect - the worst part was, I fell alseep in part of my wonderful treatment it was so relaxing!!!! The spa is beautiful and therapists were lovely. our room looked out at Big Ben so each morning we could sit and watch the bustle on the bridge, in front of Big Ben and enjoy our nespresso coffees. Our breakfast was included and was an above average buffet in the morning served quickly and efficiently. We had a dinner at Joel's one evening and did the tasting menu which I would rate a 5/10 so disappointing. Our first course was a crab appetizer which had numerous shells in it and after a couple of bites of shells, turns you off and so we didnt finish but the response of the staff was, sorry, it is fresh crab???? pardon???? I didnt get. It was a set menu so we can only rate the same dishes, and the duck confit was not prepared well at all while the risotto was delicious. We felt that with the number of disapointments experienced with the meal, that there should have been some type of compensation for part of the food but were offered the gratuity of the waiters to be left off the bill....not cool. Our room was wonderful and beds comfy but needed another pillow as very soft and feathery! Other than our dinner here, the hotel and spa were excellent and there are many other places to eat in London so would not dissuade anyone from staying here.
