“Clean and spacious”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

Great location, close to bus stops which took only 5mins to get to closest Tube stations (Sloane Sq or Victoria St), which makes it easy to get around to all the major tourist sites. Clean and spacious rooms, although the orientation of the bathtub does not allow you to lie in the bath and watch TV through the window into the main living area, if that is your thing. Wasn't a fan of the blue lighting in the bathroom either.
Friendly and efficient staff, and they were able to accommodate our need for an earlier than usual check-in on this occasion.
Beds were a bit on the firm side for my liking.
Good base for getting around London though.
We were only on the third floor, but with a room close to the lifts, we did have a view over Battersea Park.
Fitness room is quite small, although I was the only person in there when I used it, so served its purpose. Didn't use the pool/spa, but looked very nice all the same.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my partner, we got a fantastic deal at £95 per night for a double-room, thanks to their price match guarantee on their website, so it is well worth looking online for a great deal and then getting the hotel to guarantee a 5% better deal!

The location of the hotel is nice, as it is close to Battersea Park and Chelsea Bridge with a great view of the iconic Battersea Power Station. But it would be nicer if it was closer to an underground station, but there are great bus services that can get you to Sloane Square/Victoria in 5 mins, so this wasn't a problem really and walking is a great alternative when it's sunny!

The interior of the hotel was really lovely, very clean and welcoming. We got upgraded to an executive suite on the 11th floor which was fantastic, and the suite itself was really amazing. The bed was huge and the views from the 11th floor on both sides were great! It included two separate bathrooms, a lounge area and overall the amount of living space we got was really impressive and spacious, and tastefully decorated.

The executive lounge was also a great bonus, with free canapes and drinks before dinner, and free wi-fi and tea/coffee making facilities att all times. We also luckily had it to ourselves whenever we were in there which was nice as it felt as if it were our own room. Nice views of the London Eye, the Shard and Big Ben etc from the executive lounge balcony as well.

The Spa pool and sauna/steam room were also great, and free to use. We used it in the morning and it was lovely and quiet at this time, so we had it to all to ourselves!!

The tapas food we had the bar was lovely, especially the meatball and potato cubes with spicy sauce. The restaurant was also nice. The only niggle with the food/drinks in this hotel is that the prices for soft drinks are very expensive, but I suppose this is to be expected in most hotels!!

Overall this hotel is a real hidden gem, and the quality, standard and cleanliness of this hotel is magnificent when considering the very reasonable prices you can get for the rooms!! There would be many other hotels in London charging the same amount but they would no where near match the quality of the Pestana.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, in particular couples and business people, and I will definitely be back and I look forward to my next stay as it surpassed all my expectations and I had a really pleasant stay.

I would like the thank all the staff at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge for making our stay so special.

Room Tip: Executive suites are lovely and provide great living space, views and acces to the executive lounge...

I recently stayed at the Pestana on Chelsea Bridge. It was a business trip. The prices (for London) are average. The rooms are above average- like an upmarket Marriott.
Staff are great, mostly Spanish or Portuguese (it's owned by a Portuguese businessman).
The rooms overlook Battersea Park on one side and Battersea Power Station on the other.
If you ask for a room overlooking the park, you'll find that no rooms, even on the highest floors, give you that view. The hotel sits behind a collection of very desirable apartments which have the best views, so you'll be looking at them instead.
The other side has the power station and the early morning light, but also the Victoria to South London train line which can be noisy with the window open.
The best rooms are on the higher floors.
Food is OK, the restaurant isn't one to rave about, but if you're working it's OK and not too pricey. The area- Chelsea, Battersea and Clapham has some great foodie places, so most eat out.
Parking is good, with 24 hour, manned security, and some fab cars to look at owned by Bahrain playboys who have some of the apartments opposite.

Room Tip: Higher floors better rooms, Power Station side has train noise but morning light.

The Pestana, though across Chelsea Bridge and therefore just south of the river, is still very conveniently situated for the West End and is only 10 to 15 minutes from Victoria. It is very reasonably priced compared to similar quality more central hotel, is spotlessly clean, modern and has the added luxury of a small spa. My one complaint... the lighting in the bathrooms if you are a woman applying make-up is awful! Please hotel management, change them to a brighter white light!

Room Tip: if train noise bothers you, you might not want to be on the side facing Battersea Power Station, tho...

I stayed for a couple of nights at the end of June 2012 and really liked this hotel (especially by comparison with the Hilton Doubletree Victoria, where I'd stayed for the previous couple of nights). The room was large and very well furnished, the bathroom was great and the service was excellent. The only problem is the location - not so close to the tube - but there are nice views over the river from the higher floors, and it is right next to Battersea Park.

The rates (I think there are almost always good deals to be had) are great value. I paid considerably less than for a much smaller room (and much worse service) at the Hilton.

I would most definitely stay here again. The only slight gripe is charging for internet in the rooms, although I was given virtually unlimited access in the (lovely) lobby area, and I guess this may be the first step to making the whole hotel Free Wifi?

Room Tip: High floors have the best views.

I hadn't stayed in this part of London before but it's a great location and a particularly easy drive from the M4.

The hotel is very modern and a very attractive reception. Staff were more than helpful, luggage taken to our room with the minimum of fuss. We had an executive room, very spacious and a nice sitting area with a white leather sofa. Tea and coffee facilities with a basin next to it - much easier to fill the kettle and wash cups than using the bathroom. The bathroom itself was rather small but the shower cubicle was big and the shower itself very powerful. Toiletries were nice although could have been more of them. Amazingly, no box of tissues which to me is an essential. I queried this at reception and the girl gave me a few packs of tissues. Not a huge problem but slightly irritating.

The bed was beautiful, as we're the pillows. We had a good night's sleep in very quiet surroundings.

We were entitled to use the executive lounge which was a bit disappointing. We had breakfast there but it was minimal. Limited choice of cereals and the bread rolls were rather stale. No toast was offered but the lounge was spotless and bright. Good selection of newspapers.

My only real complaint about the Pestana was the 'gymnasium'. At best this could only be called a Fitness Room and that's being kind. Two treadmills, one bike and a rowing machine. There were weights there but the room was so small that if there were more than 2 people in there, you'd be hard pressed to find space. There is a spa and pool here which I didn't use but have heard good reports.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. We ate in the bar which was very good and the service was excellent. Bar staff very attentive and polite.

One tip for fellow travellers. I actually drove past the hotel as it's situated behind the Chelsea Bridge Wharf Appartments. It really needs a 'hotel' sign at the traffic lights. According to the staff, a few people have commented on this and I believe they are applying to the council.

I would definitely come back here. You can walk to the Houses of Parliament and we also went to Westminster Cathedral which was stunning. A very relaxing couple of days.

This hotel really does give excellent value if you shop around and/or use their price guarantee. The rooms and beds are very large especially for a central metropolis hotel. Note that the car parking charges are just £4 a day for Saturday and Sunday, £20 only for weekdays. So overall we support the reviews below. However, we found some design features that we thought were just plain irritating - and of course some things that the hotel cannot now change. An orange valance light serves no purpose, does it?; a strong blue/violet light in the shower room is there (we were told) 'because it's pretty' (blue light on skin is always unflattering, and it's Not been put there to make veins difficult to find for IV-using addicts as you may find in some urban public toilets, as there is regular lighting as well of course); the main shower room lights are in the ceiling and are inadequate for the mirror; the bedside lights have a very weak bulb in a chi-chi stand and an LED light on a flexitube that is too small for reading any book bigger than a Mr Man... our bed had a duvet with a cover made out of plasticized cotton, and there was no topsheet, so we had two rather sticky-feeling nights. I'm not usually so pernickety but these are the reasons that I wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Only had one room - no issues with the location.
