I love the Underworld ! I love gigs in this place. It is a bit old and "consumed" but it is it's magic i guess! Seen loads of gigs here, acoustic is good and staff is nice. Def recommended!

“Wow, the place to be for a concert”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This is the second time I've visited this venue for a concert, well worth going if a group you like is playing.

“Atmospheric but very poorly air conditioned”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

I must say I was genuinely surprised to see the previous reviews for this club. I regularly go to rock & metal concerts and have seen quite a few concert venues - and I just cannot agree with Underworld's "excellent" and "very good" reviews. True, the place definitely has atmosphere and you can easily see your favourite band close up. There is also a large balcony which lets more people actually see the concert. However, the venue's acoustics are quite average. Right in the middle of the concert floor there are several large pillars which don't help the sound either (and obstruct the view at the same time). The club's biggest weakness would be its very poor ventilation and air conditioning. The venue is in a basement so you can't just open a window to let in some fresh air. When the place is packed, it gets hot and stuffy after just a few minutes. By the end of the gig there's barely any air to breathe so if you don't take stuffy rooms very well you'll probably have to step outside every once in a while (not such an easy thing to do during a rock concert). Luckily, reentering is not a problem (you just show the stamp you got when your ticket was checked). Also the club is virtually right in front of the Camden Town tube station entrance which is a blessing on a rainy day. All in all I probably would come here again but it's not a place I'd put on my favourite venue list.

“Great venues for gigs”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

Me and my partner were in London and went to watch Majesty, Battle Beast, Ashes of Ares and most important of all (the main reason we went) the mighty POWERWOLF!! Spent 5 hours headbanging :) The venue is great as it is small so you get to feel close to the bands and there is more crowd interaction. The sound was great too, which is obviously important. All in all this is a great venue for gigs and I hope that next time I am in London, one of my favorite bands will be playing there.

“Pretty awesome venue!”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

A great venue for gigs for typically underground-type bands; definitely wouldn't want to see the typical mainstream radio-bands here, it's perfect for the loud and heavy so expect the noise! It's a great and perfect atmosphere for the moshers and great music lovers alike!

The drinks weren't what I expected - London prices I thought would cost me an arm and a leg but pleasantly surprised. Good quick service if you make sure you get there before anyone else (barge in first!!)

My only hang-up was the sound-levels: at times the singer was being drowned out by the bass. A very small hang-up because the bass and drums were so great, but typically the singer is crystal-clear.

All in all definitely recommended ESPECIALLY if it's a band you love - the venue won't let them down!
