Met up with some friends after work. The style is stunning - dramatic surroundings on Fleet Street next to the Royal Courts of Justice. There is waitress service - but it does get very busy in the evenings. Pictures show an outside garden - would be nice in the summer.!

We went there for lunch after strolling from the south bank across the Thames. The atmosphere really is something else, and the food is good, sturdy pub food. The house pie I tried was really nice, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Go there for lunch, but be advised that it is closed on weekends!

Lots of history here, as it lies between the site of Sweeny Todd's barber shop and Mrs Lovetts pie shop!

I had a lovely cockaleeko pie (chicken & leek) with a devils kidneys starter. Both really good with lashings of gravy!

Thoroughly recommended!

Had coffees here (properly made Lattes, resonable price) loved the pub. Lots of historical information doted around. Everything's very grand - huge island bar, crstyal chandeliars, shiny oak tables. Lovely place and service with a smile too. (hot Italian barman ;)
