Description: The Shepherds Tavern is a handsome feature in the Shepherd Market landscape. Built in 1735 as part of the original redevelopment of the area by Edward Shepherd, after the original May Fair was moved to Bow in 1686. Edward Sheppard was an architect and property owner, the tavern was built on ground belonging to him. Formally a butter shop, the exact date of when the building converted into pub is not known. English born actress M.B.E Wendy Richard lived in the pub from 1948 to 1953, and is honoured by the Heritage Foundation.

When we arrived at our hotel we asked the concierge for pub and restaurant options for lunch. We wanted something close by and casual and he suggested Shepherd Tavern. It was a great recommendation! It was my first time in London and I wasn't disappointed! It was a bit busy so we ordered our meals (fish and chips!) and our drinks and the waitress suggested we go upstairs where there was plenty of seating. The food was very good as was the service. We were looking for a fun, casual place with good food and that's exactly what we received!

Went to the shepards tavern for a venison blueberry burger, which was very nice. The staff was entertaining and accomidating. Prices were not bad either, only spent about 25£ and had a few drinks as well.
