“Great London B and B”
Reviewed 2 June 2011

This London B and B was perfect for us. We stayed for nearly a week to begin our month-long vacation in England and for two nights at the end of April, 2011. The building is a restored five-level townhouse in Kennington. The location is perfect - near the Kennington tube station on the Northern line. The beautiful Kennington Park is nearby and is great to walk or go for a run. It is also within walking distance of a car hire firm. This was handy leaving and returning to London by car. The rooms are spacious and recently renovated. There is much to choose from for breakfast. Sian, Charlie, and staff were friendly and willing to help. If we come back to London, this is our place.

Thank you Charlie and Sian. We had a wonderful stay. This B&B is located in a residential neighborhood out of the hustle and bustle of the London’s city center. It is a half block away from the tube station and 10 minutes by tube to central London. Charlie’s pub recommendation of Tommyfields was spot on. It is a great local hangout with great beers and good food. Big shoutout to Daniel the bar manager for being so engaging. On the way to Tommyfields is Clever Square. It is chock full of locals having fun. Area felt really safe and comfortable.

The B&B was perfect. It was clean, great continental breakfast, comfy bed, large room and really quiet. The only B&B on a 2 week trip to have an IPad for guest use. Sian arranged for a taxi to take us to Heathrow at a reduced rate. Great…great stay!

I stumbled across Kennington B&B whilst looking for somewhere for my fiancee and I to stay while we were on a short break to London without our young children. From the reviews and pictures, it looked far too good to be true for the price. I booked it immediately and promptly received a confirmation email from the owners, Charlie & Sian. They were both extremely helpful in the days leading up to our stay and whilst we were there. Very friendly & approachable and along with the housekeeper Inga (sorry if it is mis-spelt!) they run a very comfortable hotel. Impeccably clean and extremely tastefully decorated throughout, this hotel really is a hidden gem. Excellent transport links only serve to enhance the appeal of this cracking little place. We will definitely be visiting again and look forward to seeing both Charlie & Sian in the near (child-free) future!

Room Tip: Just book, you won't be disappointed!

We are a couple from Wirral and we stayed at the B&B between 14-16th May 2011

We had read great reviews prior to making a booking and we were certainly not dissapointed.

The service was great and we were greeted at the door by Sian, the proprietor. She showed us to our room, which was on the top floor of the building.

The floor we were on was immaculate and clearly well maintained. We had a living room with a TV & couch, a cloak room, a bathroom (shower, toilet & basin) and of course, a bedroom. All rooms were lovely and I'm sure other rooms in the building would be of an equal standard.

The breakfast was plentiful and we throughly enjoyed it.

This B&B is right by Kennington tube station on the Northern Line, with links right into the heart of London. We travelled back from the O2 and had no trouble whatsoever, the general area seemed of a good standard.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this B&B to family & friends and we hope to return in the near future.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay at the Kennington B&B. Owners, Sien and Charlie, their staff and home offer a most welcoming, warm and comfortable stay.
The B&B is immaculate inside and out; with the interior nicely renovated while keeping its original beauty. Because there were 3 of us, we had the 2 bedrooms on our level. Our rooms had large window/s and were spacious, airy, bright, clean and very comfortable. The beds, too, were perfect with crisp linens and we all had an excellent night's sleep. The bathroom was spacious and well laid out - and again, spotless.
Breakfast was delicious with varied, fresh and as plentiful a spread as shown in their posted pictures. It can be eaten inside or in the pleasant and private garden.
The commute from Heathrow and downtown London is very straightforward by tube or bus - Kennington is a 1/2 block walk from the tube station. If you are traveling from Kings Cross train station, a direct bus ride with a short walk easily gets you to Kennington. The walk gives you a nice sense of this just-outside-of-downtown-London neighborhood.
Everyone was so hospitable and helpful; striving, and succeeding, in offering high quality service. A wonderful experience and worthy of the 5 star recommendation.

My husband and I stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. It is incredibly close to the underground (less than half of a block) and you can be at many of the major London spots in just minutes. The neighborhood was not touristy or overcrowded and had great local restaurants and easy to find groceries.

The place itself was cozy and inviting. There was internet access, TV, free use of telephones and even iPad access. The breakfast was delicious and enough to keep us going until we could stop for lunch. Finally the rooms were simple and beautiful. The bathroom was modern and sleek. The owners were welcoming and informative. Overall, we could not have asked for a better stay. Thank you, Kennington B&B for making our stay in London and our honeymoon so wonderful. We will be back!

This place was absolutely spot on and we had a fabulous time. We booked for a couple of nights to see Wicked at the Apollo (stunning show) but wish we could have stayed longer. Its like all the good bits from hotels you've stayed at, but all in one place.

We were given a warm and friendly welcome by our host, who, frankly, went out of her way to ensure our stay was as wonderful as it could have been without coming across as intrusive or overbearing. Truly superb service provided from all :)

The rooms are spotless and beautifully decorated, ours was classic but modern and of a good size. We had a huge wardrobe and a view which gave us quaint views of the garden. Incidently you are free to use the garden at your leisure be it for breakfast or to catch a few rays in the afternoon sun. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with fresh white linens and the bathroom was absolutley spotless and was a very good size. The shower had a drench shower which was a-mazing!

Breakfast (continental) was worth the money alone as I lost count of the things on offer! There were even waffles, hot cross buns and bagels, as well as the normal toasts, cereals (4 types), fruit, yoghurts, fresh juice, tea, coffee and so on. When the syrup for the waffles had unexpectedly run out our host even kindly offered to go and buy some more straight away! Oh yes, they also have nice tea and biscuits (about 5 types) laid out in the kitchen/dining area for guests who fancy a cuppa, great for the garden. There was english breakfast, earl grey, lemon and green tea as I recall.

There was an I-pad available in the dining room for use, free phone calls to landlines in about 40 countries, a brilliant guest pack which showed all of the local conveniences, restaurants etc... (The Ghandi Curry House, go there, its fantastic!)

We met Inga the housekeeper who was incredibly kind and friendly, she even bought us a little Wills & Kate wedding day souvenier (we happened to be there at the time of 'the wedding').

Its right next to the tube stop but there is no noise and you wouldn't know! Its only a few minutes on the Northern Line to central London and its many sights.

I really can't reccommend this place highly enough and this will be our stay of choice when we are next in Londonshire :D

In short excellent value for money, wonderfully kind and friendly staff, spotlessly clean and convenient location for London. This is the finest example of what accommodation should aspire to. The owners should be very proud of themselves for an excellent job :)

Tip: Because of the restrictions on planning permission (the house is very old) they couldn't put a bathroom in every room, so although ours was en-suite, I think most are 1 bathroom on each floor (between 2 rooms). So for this reason these rooms are probably more ideal for families than couples if you're bothered about that. It will say on laterooms etc when you book it though whether it's en-suite or not.
