This 'hotel' doesn't even deserve the terrible rating i've awarded it.

Do not be mislead by the marble entrance and reception desk. That is as far as the luxury goes in this place. You are expected to carry your luggage up the many flights of stairs through narrow staircases, of which only half of the lightbulbs work.

Once arriving in our room we opened the fridge to find milk 9 days out of date and a bottle of opened coke. The ceiling was covered in mould and the wall was peeling and cracking from dampness. The bathroom was lovely until I turned on the light to be disgusted by the mouldy pebble dash ceiling.

Surprisingly the bed was extremely comfortable if you put aside the filthy blanket which was thankfully covered by a clean sheet.

Our room didn't get made up on 3 occasions, however clean towels appeared from no where every day (maybe they could spend their money elsewhere improving things, rather than wasting it on clean towels everyday).

Breakfast…. HAHA. Now where do I start? You help yourself which is fine, and you have the option of toast, toast, toast or more toast. If you really wanted to spice things up you could chuck some plastic cheese onto your toast, but then again that's only worth doing if you're lucky enough to get a knife or plate from the counter. (spoon was used on 7/9 occasions to spread butter and cut toast) Oh there is the odd pot of 'hot' water and the coffee, if you can call it coffee. Then again this is only worth attempting to get breakfast if you can get one of the 8 tables.

We stayed in 3 rooms over our stay and they were all pretty much the same standard:
-Moudly
-Damp
-Stinky
-Dirty
-1 room had plugs hanging off the wall
-Our second room we had to climb 58 steps to get to

For GBP45 a night in August, this hotel was OK by London standards and high prices. Convenient location, room was clean, breakfast actually pretty good for this price range.

The usual hotel let-downs, completely avoidable, such as one dead bulb in the bathroom and the safe had the batteries missing so it was useless.

Very annoying: two uncustomary extra charges that were not disclosed on the booking website:

- undisclosed charge #1: they wanted an extra GBP 5 for the TV remote. The TV was inoperable without it as it had no buttons,

- undisclosed charge #2: to leave your bag there for a while on your departure day, another GBP 5. This is the first time I have ever been charged for this normally-included hotel service

Thus the actual price for normal service was GBP 55, not the GBP 45 paid on the website.

Because of the undisclosed charges I would not choose this hotel again. Sharp practice doesn't make for repeat customers. There are dozens of similar hotels around Earl's Court.

I have rated as average for the area and price.

Room Tip: Scrutinise web booking for any undisclosed charges and fine print.

Unfortunately, my review is rather negative. The rooms are very small, and the bed clothes could be cleaner, the bathrooms have no ventilation and there is barely any space for hanging your stuff.

The price for this hotel does not seem up to standard with the service they offer.

Otherwise, close to the tube at Earl's Court.

This hotel should pay you to stay here. The Manager Ashraf, is very arrogant. He is very rude to his guests. Did anyone tell him that the key to a good hotel is good CUSTOMER SERVICE. He has no clue. I arrived in London, checked into my room (which was ice cold) and plugged in my Tablet/Phone to be charge, and the radiator on so the room could warm up. I left to go buy a coat. I came back the radiator is "TURNED OFF" and there was an item on top of my touch screen Tablet. Instantly, I knew someone was in the room. Now mind you he absolutely DOES NOT ALLOW CHECK IN BEFORE 2PM! So it wasn't the cleaners. That's when I realized the Touch screen on my tablet got broken. I confronted him and instantly he started yelling and slamming the door and then speaking in Arabic. He said to go to the police. So instead of having rest I left to go to the police at 1130pm after traveling for the last 19 hours (including stopovers and time change). The police came 230am with me and found numerous hotel violations and demanded the CCTV TAPE. I checked out the next day. I would rather stay on the streets than stay in this Hotel ever again. PALMERS LODGE is the way to go!!

In spite of the convenient location I wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyome:
rooms are with mildew on the walls, sheets are torn , the bathroom is also dirty with mildew and incrustations. You are provided with a single small towel. The personnel is very rude. Inc case you should need a plug , internet connection or whatevere else , you have to pay. Price and 3 stars category absolutely inappropriate considering the very poor service.

Stayed in room 304 which was up three flights of stairs so difficult with bags, but the room was nice, clean, reasonably modern and had a TV and fridge. The hotel is close to Earls Court tube and a Tesco Extra which is convenient, the hotel is also quite well priced. The only criticism was the lack of free WIFI which was available but expensive, and the breakfast which was part continental and not worth the bother. Expected a dump but got a reasonably nice hotel.
